You know stock figures are public... Bud is up 6.28% in the last month and up 39.70% in the last 6 months

If you want to look at Nike the stock is up 80.46% over the past 5 years.

Would you like to contribute some numbers or just call names?

I’m no expert but there will be a delay in the real sales numbers.

AB sells to distributors who sell to retailers who sell to consumers.

If that product sits idle on retail shelves, they won’t reorder from distributors who won’t reorder from AB. That’s far from a 2 week feedback loop to be reflected in numbers yet

Let's be realistic, if the stock was down 20% at the close of market Friday there was pomp and circus celebrations on the board and the OT

Just had our company crayfish boil this past week, around 500 customers showed. I get all the beverages for the day. Normally I get 15 cases of Bud light and 12 cases Mich Ultra. Boss wanted me to cut back on that part of the order by half. Put 4 case each of each in the ice trough. End of the night only 8 bud lights were consumed and 12 of the Mich Ultra.
Normally we have a case of each left over. Place I get the beer wouldn't take a return of the cases left over.
The guy I deal with said that was biggest sale of Bud Light and Mich Ultra this month.

Earnings reports and sales are lagging indicators. The inpact would not be publicly reported on yet, but you better believe that Anheuser-Busch believes there will be an inpact because they made a PR move out of putting the VP of Marketing on a LOA.

I am not in the industry so I don’t know the finer details, but I would imagine that right now the stores that sale it and maybe the distributors are feeling the pain, it hasn’t made it all the way up to AB yet, but if the drop in sales continues then it will.

Bud light competes like PepsiCo, they believe their product is either inferior in the marketplace or that most people view it is a commodity. AB views their competitive advantage is not the quality of the product, instead in their world class marketing abilities. They have likely previously thought the worst thing in the world would be a marketing campaign that doesn’t make a statement (good or bad), this campaign will put that idea to the test. Can a bad marketing campaign shine the light on them in a negative manner and drop sales.

AB earnings and sales reports haven’t been disclosed yet why would the stock already be down?

That said if numbers were up why was the woman responsible for the campaign removed from her position?

All I have noticed are completely full displays at the grocery store and convivence stores. Other brands have holes in the displays but the Bud, Bud Light, and Ultra displays are packed with nothing missing.

I can only assume that it is because people are not buying it.

Their BL sales are certainly going to take a hit this year, but that product line doesn't even represent close to half their sales for that company, which has dozens of brands and product lines with sales around the world.

Did you just write BL "a product that does not represent close to half their sales" But is the largest volume premium priced beer in their portfolio.....will not affect them?

Thats like saying Tom Brady in his prime broke his leg....but no biggy we have other players.

The beer business is very capital and fixed cost driven, losing volume, particularly premium priced volume, hurts....a lot. You will see it in the Nielsen numbers in a few weeks, and their financials mid year.

They can say whatever they want, but I sure haven’t seen a lot of people drinking Buds lately. And neither am I. Boycott or not, I’m out.

Distributors for Budweiser have strict compliance with parent company AB for operations. Their route accounting software interacts with their P&L and sales. They pull data and send to AB every month AND ON REQUEST.

St Louis and Belgium both know exactly what is happening with Bud Light sales and sales overall during this fiasco.

I guarantee you they can tell you what counties are the worst hit, by package, and by channel of business.

The Marketing person who started this is a Radical Leftist.

Yes, I've heard her but I think we're missing something. Corporations are heavily into making decisions with a small group meeting coming to a recommendation. The problem with this method is that 'group think' occurs. That's when 'cooperation' is more important than 'logical criticism.'

The meeting about the Dylan Mulvany ads probably went like this:

Female Boss: 'I've got an idea to really supercharge our sales. Let's get this transsexual to promote our product.
What do you think, guys?'

Bob: 'Uh, well, mmmmm, yeah I guess it would work.'
Janet: 'I think it's a great idea!'
Phil: 'Yes it might get the younger crowd and that's what we need to grow!'
Mary: 'Put me down! I'm for it!'
Meanwhile:
Frank (thinking to himself)....'Whoa, this is gonna really piss off our base. But I'm not gonna be the a-hole today. I'm keeping my mouth shut.'

According to industry data, BL sales two weeks ago were down about double the rate of the YTD number. In other words, losses are accelerating, rapidly.

Week ending 4/1:
Sales (-1.6%)
Volume (-6.4%)
Dollar share (-0.7%)

Week ending 4/8:
Sales (-7%)
Volume (-10.7%)
Dollar share (-3.7%)

Almost like something happened a couple of weeks ago? Hmmmm?
