Greg Brooks laying the boom wearing #3 gave me flashbacks to Jones this past year. He killed a guy from Ar-Kasnas.

Did Mathieu play any safety at LSU? Or just CB? If he did, I’d have to put him in the mix.

Laron Landry.... he led the best lsu defense ever in tackles as a true freshman.

He made all sec every year and all American 3 of his 4 years. He is the most decorated safety in lsu history.

One of 2 lsu tigers to lead the team in tackles 3 years.

Brodie Croyle still has nightmares about LaRon Landry.

You really need to specify FS or SS position.

Jones was a big play guy, but really wasn't great as a safety. The last games of his junior year, he basically played outside linebacker which was really his skill set.
He was really good with the play in front of him.

We have had some great safeties, but Jamal Adams to me was the best

He wasn’t the best, but I’ll always remember Steven Rehage. I was a kid when he played, and wanted to hit like he did.

Chad was phenomenal, but my vote goes to 3 time All-American Tommy Casanova.
