I'm not sure BRPD owns this aircraft or is it operated by a private security company. Either way someone should have operational control to keep tabs on aircraft, especially as t night

I'm wondering if there was an ELT onboard?

Weather at BTR was reporting marginal/IFR. Ceilings at 1,000 feet.
Based on track log data he climbed from about 500 feet to 1,000 and then his speed immediately increased. Looks like spatial D but don’t wanna speculate

Apparently they crashed around 11 / Midnight and no one even noticed them missing until around late morning. Kind of messed up.

8-9 hours after the crash? What the hell is going on at BRPD?

Is this unique to the helicopter? If so, this is the one that was at Touch A Truck yesterday :(

I don't understand this.

Saw it out there yesterday. Kid wanted to get in but the pilot laughed and said it was Touch A Truck, not Touch A Helicopter.

Prayers sent.

I think they are used to the aircraft just landing at random places and times. For them to not be seen in constant flight is normal. With no radio communication alerting anyone that they had a problem allowed the crash to go unnoticed until concerned people started looking around at their last know location.

This is incompetence. How does a helicopter and two passengers go missing for hours?

Is there any type of control tower system?

BRPD is way worse than I thought.

Maybe FAA can jump in and stir some sh*t up.

Not sure what to make of this quote, but Ford is thinking of a way to respectfully use it in a Mustang commercial.

Tower and approach were closed and they likely weren’t talking to center. Shocked BRPD dispatch didn’t keep tabs on them

You go ahead and believe what you’re told about a pursuit. They never do down low work for politicians. Lol.

You're an idiot. We watched the State Police and BRPD helicopters touch down by Tiger Park at least 10 times in the hours before the Garth Brooks concert last April. They were clearly dropping off important folks for the concert. They did this in plain view to the public.

Nobody really cares that they use these aircraft for VIPs and politicians.

But I highly doubt a politician needed a ride at 2am this morning.

If that mustang driver is found, he’s going to have manslaughter/2nd degree murder charges coming.
