Buy apartment buildings and make them "rent to own". After a couple of years of payments, I'd transfer the title to the tenants.

Place grocery stores in neighborhoods that are under sourced.

Buy farmland and invite people to try their hand at farming. If after a couple of years they decide they like it, sell them the farm for a turnip.

Lots of things a person could do.

Pay for all school lunches in my parish for 3 or 4 years. Breakfast too. No kid should ever not eat because they 'owe'.

Then donate to various shelters and children's medical services.

I'd throw the bank at my kids' school to completely rebuild it. They are still in temp buildings from the hurricanes and the entire campus needs an overhaul in a bad way.

After that, St. Jude and Fisher House.

St. Jude does great work, but are rich as frick and can’t spend the money they have. Kind of like Susan G. Komen, they get so many donations to the detriment of other charities.

Adopt a bunch of kids and raise them to be conservative free staters.

The media would inevitably come after me for having a 'right wing commune' or something.

You could give to charity all you want but are you sure your donation is going to be used as intended?

Nothing that can be traced back to me.

Doing good things with the money isn’t a bad thing. The problem is that people knowing you have money and are performing charity means all kinds of bums try to hit you up with a story to get money.

I could win the lottery and give every cent away but someone would be pissed that the money didn’t go to them because they feel entitled to it.

College and trade school scholarships for kids from rural, educationally-underserved areas, like here in NE AL. Would demand that I not know the candidates’ name and race when reviewing applications.

500 million? There wouldn’t be a homeless Veteran in the state of Louisiana if he didn’t want to be.

I'd definitely start quite a few urban food gardens. It would serve several purposes to include education, a sense of pride, and introducing fresh, healthy food to some of the country's poorest areas. The food would be free. Then I'd probably host a local chef every week that held a class on how to use seasonal fruits and vegetables in cooking and fed the community a hot meal.

I’d buy a trailer park and let all my friends be my neighbors
