fun fact, that state is so big that they had more republican votes in the 2020 presidential election than any other state.

Me and my wife were two of them and we've since moved from California.

This doesn't add up to me. Places like Austin, Denver, Las Vegas, Boise, etc... have all been overrun by California transplants. Every one of them has gotten much bluer.

Can't speak for those other cities, but I can for Boise. The city itself has gotten a bit blue because of all the west coast freaks living on the north side, but Idaho overall has actually gotten much redder. Most of the California or Washington tags you see here are on trucks with AR-15 and FJB stickers.

There's very little doubt that Texas is trending towards being a purple state for national elections. Just go look at the election results over the last 2 or 3 decades. Trump won that state by 5%. 20 years ago that would have been 15%

every CA person i've met (and there are lots) who has moved to middle TN including the CEO who bought my old house are absolutely red-pilled sick-of-it refugees.

why do you think newsome is trying to tax them for leaving?

And at the 2030 census, the Census Bureau will have another "accounting error" and California will keep a congressional seat that they don't deserve while voters in a red state will go under-represented. Same for NY.

In my experience, most California republicans are a different ilk than your stereotypical trumpette. They tend to be chamber of commerce, small “c” conservatives and highly educated. More akin to the textbook “Connecticut CEO conservative.”

They'll be replaced by illegals. California will eventually just be a state with no middle class

30 years too late. The adults screwing things up in the Pac NW are the kids of transplants.

If that happens, this country is done. From a numbers perspective, we are the last stand.

Not sure about that. Boise has been left-of-center for about 20 years. McLean's predecessor (Bieter) was also a Democrat, and he had been there for a long time. Idaho has had Democratic US Senators and Governors in the past (Frank Church and Cecil Andrus). If anything, the California transplants have made Idaho redder. I don't see any way a Democrat could win a statewide office in Idaho now.

Anecdotally, all my neighbors that are from California seem to be right of center. The few left-of-center neighbors I have are from Boise. That said, I live in the burbs.

cool .. another thread where fat plant workers from Plaquemine or Prairieville come shite on a state that offers infinitely more opportunity and quality of life than they can dream of. The obsession is sad.

Watching Californians cry because mean people stating actual facts about shithole of a state is always entertaining.

Cali isn't the only state with good weather and nature trails.

Sooner or later, California will build their own wall to keep people from leaving. They can call it The Berlin Wall 2.0.

I know many are conservatives, but there are plenty Dems moving and they refuse to understand their voting caused this.

Who do you think are moving out of California?

The conservative voters

A California conservative would be considered a liberal lunatic in most of the red states.

They're voting blue once they move because the California repubs more closely align with red state dems.

This started back in the mid 80s. It's why CO and AZ population exploded in the 80s-90s. I had to move to SoCal in the early 90s and UHaul practically paid me to drive a truck out there one way.

I left and moved back home. I love the weather and the scenery, but was over all the BS! I was out there almost 17 years.

At one point in the early 60's California was growing by almost 1 million people a year.
