What are your thoughts on what makes a good golf group.

Good guys who are available when you want to play and who are comfortable to gamble what you want to gamble

Play ready golf. Stay positive. Don’t throw clubs. Fix ball marks. Sand divots. Keep the cussing to a minimum. Don’t play music loud enough for me to hear. Stay off their phones. Don’t use mulligans. Play by the rules. Talk about anything but work while playing. Don’t get too drunk.

1) Pace of play
2) Don't throw tantrums or quit mid round

Only two things I really care about.

Guys that are not cheap.

Guys that honor the rules.

Guys that you enjoy a few beers with after the round.

Handicaps are not important as long as each guy plays at a good pace.

I play in a group of 8 and they all meet the criteria.

Im almost the opposite. I can’t stand guys that want to gamble lots of money. It never leads to anything fun

You sound like a chill dude who people would love to play with. I’m sure you’re overwhelmed with invites to play

I don’t play much anymore, not for lack of invites.
If we’re making assumptions about people, do you think it’s okay to leave trash in a cart when done? Leave cart in the parking lot? Leave broken tees in the ground? Take a few dropped balls while playing, regardless of the group behind you? Drive your cart right up to the green of just off the path to save three steps?
My take on it is that basic courtesy and refusal to follow the rules and expectations that I’ve seen in the last five years on the golf course is a direct reflection of our current society woes. You’re either part of the problem or the solution.

Leave broken tees in the ground is one of your hot button issues? Sheesh

Nah. Just asking a question. Only thing that really bothers me on a course is when people litter or don’t fix ball marks.

Show up on time and don't agree to tee times unless your wife approves them first if she's going to be the reason you say you can't go

Play ready golf

Play the correct tees for your handicap

Repair your ball marks on the green and divots everywhere else

Pick up your tee's after your tee shot

Don't be an unbearable douche-canoe when you're not playing well

Do yourself a favor and have a drink or smoke a joint. Maybe see a psychiatrist and get some Xanax

No thanks. I’m fine. Do me a favor and don’t drive if you do any of those things, including getting wasted with your bros on the golf course.

My one pet peeve is people getting overly mad on the golf course. I've played with guys that when their game is going well, they're very pleasant to be around, but when they have one blown shot, it becomes very awkward in the cart. We all get aggravated with bad shots at times, but my personal philosophy is that by the time I get back in the cart, the frustration is over and time to focus on the next shot to recover. Some guys carry that irritation over the course of several holes.

I play in a group on Sunday usually turns out 8-12. There is a minimum bet of $15 per person and you can enter as many side bets as you want. So the guys who are lower risk can gamble all of $15 or you can gamble as much as you want on side bets. Most of the guys are older, which I personally enjoy. They're not so wound up over little things and don't really care if they win or lose. They're there to keep themselves busy and outdoors.
