Porsche guys are like crossfiters and vegans, they are compelled to work it into every conversation

Situation matters. A guy was asking me about my car at a party and of course I told him trim levels and packages but it was a track oriented car and he wanted to know about it.

Just bringing it up is weird, hell just saying what you drive randomly is weird too.

Very try hard.

It’s pointless to mention that

I’ve heard him do this twice already in social situations. Someone casually asks what he drives

I can’t recall ever hearing this question asked in a social situation, who asks this and why?

How else are they going to recognize and appreciate my immaculate taste if I don’t tell them I opted for a 1:1 deviated stitching spec????

I thought this was a euphemism for him describing how you sister trims her bush.

I am disappointed

I personally feel like this depends on the conversation.

For instance, I drive a Sierra and many people ask me "Is it a denali?" Which I reply, "No, its a SLT Texas edition."

That would be relentlessly mocked in my household.

I'd start fricking with him and calling out the trim level of everything. "Microwave is over there, it has the elite package with 4 different popcorn options"

I usually decide on make and model and then buy the cheapest example I can find. "Trim levels" seem like a way to make you overpay for something.

Oh, it's the Chevy Celebrity Eurosport... who cares?

It depends if you want things like leather seats, better audio, bigger wheels, apple car play, etc. If not , just get the base trim.
