I’ve heard him do this twice already in social situations. Someone casually asks what he drives, and he not only tells the make and model, but trim level too. Is this lame af, or is it just me?

And he can’t afford it, or else he wouldn’t care that people know about it.

The first time I kinda filed it away and didn’t think too much about it. The second time I wondered if it was SOP for him

He got that gold trim?

That's pretty douchy.

Is he in his mid 20s or older? Does he have "sound" in it as well?

What is the make and trim?

Why are people asking him what he drives? Is the person who is asking a car enthusiast? Is he a car enthusiast?

It can be lame, but more context is needed.
