Putting every American car on the electrical grid sounds like a good idea.

The more important question is how much impact would having a few hundred thousand kWh of interconnected and distributed storage help stabilize the grid when no one is going to be driving anyway?

It does, actually. These mass power outages would be more rare once we have more EVs which can backfeed to the grid.

Considering most folks have either oil or natural gas in their home... Not sure how more electric cars would change that...?

"She said I can't go back to America soon
So goddamn cold it's gonna snow until June
Yeah, they're freezin' up in Buffalo, stuck in their cars
And I'm lyin' here 'neath the sun and the stars"

THIS NEEDS TO BE SCREAMED FROM THE ROOFTOPS. Many places already have trouble providing enough power during extremely hot/cold spells with a high # of electric cars plugged in.

No, but all those people that froze to death in their cars, if they had an EV, they had a much better chance of not freezing to death in their cars.

How many kw does it take to charge a Tesla and at what amperage do they charge?

I am fairly certain electric ovens and home furnaces have a higher amperage draw but won't run as long.

They only plan on 1 in 100 Americans owning their own vehicle.
