How many people threw their remote at the TV when they heard the blonde chick narrating in episode one?

Pretty good first episode. Duttons still controlling livestock office. Sir Bron of the Blackwater is a sheep herder. The battle between sheep herders and cattlemen should be fun.

Jack, the guy who is getting married is current John's grandfather. Which already tells us that he doesn't get killed.

The previews pretty much ruin any cliffhangers. They show both Jack and Spencer still alive.

I think this one is accurate. Explanation in the link.

Dutton

all the family trees online are different and have messed up birth dates

Is Jack Dutton John Dutton II? because he's around 20 or so in 1923 and would make him pretty old to be having John in the 1950s

No
They explained it at the beginning

Tim died around 1892 then Faith called his brother to come to Montana and when he got there in 1894 Faith had frozen to death and the little John and Spencer were barely alive

that'll be tough as they have to deal with making it up as they go along to drag out seasons. An American tradition.

These other ones seemingly benefit from being focused and fully fleshed out.

No shite. How the hell Rip went from sociopathic cowboy to loving "aw shucks" chivalrous husband is such horse shite.

Sheridan saw how the women flocked to Rip and Taylored(SWIDT?) his character to attract women after 1st Season.

Just remember, In season 1, John, Kayce, Rip, Beth, and Lloyd were either active participants or complacent in the tradition of killing off any ranch hands that wanted to leave The Yellowstone. That was absurdly stupid.

Sheridan seems to do okay within the tight constraints of a mini-series or a single season. I really enjoyed 1883, and this also looks good. Similarly, first season(s) of SoA and Yellowstone were solid. It's when he's allowed to keep running with a show that he seems to seriously go downhill in quality of the writing.

Yes they are. The one earlier in the thread has Kevin Costners dad and Jack (who is about to marry the pretty blonde) as brothers. I do not think that is right because we did not see evidence of Dad of Kevin (frick trying to keep all the Johns straight) last night, plus, the family tree immediately above would make Tate the seventh generation as foretold in 1883 and shows Dad of Kevin as son of Jack.

I guess this is what comes from making history up as you go along.

Faith Hill did not have kids with Harrison Ford. She and Tim had another kid after Elsa died…Spencer.

He didn't have anything to do with running SoA, unless I misunderstood what you were trying to say here.

This is probably the best one I've seen but it is still somewhat wrong. Claire is shown as Margaret's sister, but she's actually James' sister. Her name is Claire Dutton.

Also it shows John II being born in 1919 which can't be right if the show is set in 1923. They'll likely show him being born while Jack is out doing cowboy shite since they heavily forshadowed it with Helen Mirren talking about cattle being the most important thing to ranchers.

Other I think it's correct with Jack being John III's grandfather. If John II is born in 1923 or 24 then that would make him 30ish when John III is born

I think I saw somewhere back when the show was announced that the injun girl in the fricked up catholic school had the last name of Rainwater. It doesn't say that on the IMDB page though. Guessing she is the grandmother of Thomas Rainwater
