A lot of Spiderco are not made in Colorado
You can literally build your knife on their website down to where the thing is manufactured
How does that prove the inaccuracy of my statement?
Go to any store and the overwhelming majority of their knives that are under $150 are made in China.

Puma Knives make some folders in your price range.

Another idea.
Swiss Army Trekker is my favorite ever since it replaced my old Swiss Army Tinker.

was thinking in the 50-80 dollar range per knife.
It's a hair over you price range at $90 on sale on Amazon, but I'm sure you could shop around and find it under $80 somewhere.
Great knives. Cold Steel is hit or miss, since some are made overseas but the American Lawman is made in the USA from US steel. The company was originally founded in Texas in the 70s or 80s I think. I've had 2 over the past 12 years. Only reason I had to buy another was because I dropped my first one in the Gulf of Mexico. Had my 2nd since 2015 and it's been my edc the whole time.

It depends on what the people you're giving them to are going to use them for. Buck 110 is a great choice for deer Hunter's, and the Buck 110 LT is a lighter, less expensive choice. They may not be an ideal everyday carry knife, though. Case, Kershaw, and Rat knives are better choices for everyday carry in your price change. Go to BladeHQ or similar websites, and search knives within your price range.

I do love a Case, mainly just for nostalgia.
But for EDC, I normally go for the same few knives. Benchmade Bugout or Benchmade Mini Bugout. Both the regular Bugout and Mini Bugout I replaced the shite stock grivory scales with G10 on Bugout and micarta on the Mini.
The other two EDC are Spyderco Para and Spyderco Delica and keep the stock scales on both as Spyerdo does nice stock scales IMO.
I swear by both Benchmade and Spyderco really. Several other brands I do like as well but those two are tops for me for the mainstream brands.

Well duh, anything made in China is going to be cheaper. But there are plenty of Spydercos made in Golden Colorado, and they're all pretty much the best knives made. The Paramilitary 2 is flawless. The Golden knives aren't cheap, because they're made here. But the quality is awesome. The ergonomics are untouchable. Absolutely superior. Some are better than others but put a Shaman in your hand and tell me a comparable knife that you got for cheap.

Does that hit the OP’s $60-80 price point?
They was my point

It’s a fantastic design, but come on. I’ve seen more than a couple that had to be reprofiled because the tip is so thin.

No argument about the build quality of Spyderco but Kershaw makes several knives in the US for under $100.

First thing I did to mine was take sandpaper to round off the edges of the scales. There’s a reason people pay as much for Flytanium scales as some people pay for a knife.

That is a nice looking knife and has good size and weight which I like. It is not a USA made knife though, Taiwan made.

I see. Guess I fell for some slick marketing back then. I know Cold Steele takes a lot of heat on knife forums because of their videos they make to advertise. They're definitely over the top. And like I said, they're hit or miss. I've had the two American Lawmen and loved them. I have one made in their Japan factory which is a good knife. But I've had a couple that were made.in China and they, of course we're shite.

It's got more to do with our insatiable need to customize stuff when it becomes a hobby. I've done it too.
And I don't know how I missed that price requirement he had. The Spyderco / Byrd's are not American made in that price range. Still good knives though. But not like the Golden knives. The Seki Japan one's were always good too. When I bought my first Spyderco it was an Endura for less than $50 new. Which is a great knife. Unfortunately those days are gone.

I have always heard it’s bad luck to give a knife as a gift. Ole folks tales type stuff. You have to give them a penny also or some voodoo type crap. Doubt you care, just throwing it out there.

Will second this…

The AUS8 steel is less expensive than D2, but D2 is harder.
Aus 8 is very good for the money, though. D2 isn't truly stainless, either, and I wouldn't use it for high acid/food environment.
Full disclosure: I have a Rat 1 in D2 and a Rat 2 in Aus 8. Hard to imagine better knives in the $35 to $50 range.

Hard to bet the Case Copperlocks for a single blade knife.

Maybe at one time.
The knife world is vast with excellent makers once you get out of Walmart and start looking around.
Chris Reeve knives are the standard imo since he created the frame lock and the quality is vastly superior to case and such.
Has a cult like following
