America as a nation used to praise Jesus not long ago, but now we praise money, sex, and self worth. Little do we know that joke is on us.

7s is incredibly entertaining. Really fast paced.

7's will be an Olympic event again in Paris 2024. Unlike in 15s aka "real rugby", The US Men's and Women's teams are solid. And both have a legit shot at Gold.

Fun fact you can tell friends at a party/bar:
Ask your buddies who won Gold the last time 15s Rugby was played in the Olympics?
Merica, that's frickin who.

There are a few reasons for this but it's official and in the history books.

I’m guessing Fiji doesn’t have any men on any of their women’s Olympic teams

Hell nah.

And for your entertainment and rugby education, rugby chicks are frickin fit beasts.
Watch this video of an Australian gal playing 7's. Watch #3. She Gets her nose broken in the first few seconds. But she gets up(Play doesn't stop with tackles in rugby) to make the tackle 4 phases/tackles later. That is incredible toughness and discipline.

Australian rugby player Georgia Page breaks nose. makes another tackle

That was the point. Everyone thinks of New Zealand, Australia, Ireland, South Africa, England, France, and even Argentina with regards to international rugby powerhouses.

But Fiji has a population of 1mm people. Yet they can compete with the best in the world in 15s rugby and beat all their asses in 7's rugby.

That is second to none.

It's the only sport I've ever tried to learn that every time the whistle blows, I haven't the faintest fricking idea what penalty was just called. Just won't fricking click for me. Hell, I can even follow fricking cricket

There’s been a couple that tried and failed. Jarryd Hayne played a bit for the Niners, mostly special teams. Christian Wade has been good for the Bills in preseason. Just shows how hard it is to make it in the NFL.

Absolutely. As versatile and athletic as these rugby guys are, the NFL only employs the absolute best at their craft. And Guys like Jarryd Hayne had never blocked in their lives. That's like Tim Tebow trying to play TE. As great a runner as Tebow was, watching him try to block an NFL Defender was funny as hell.

I got into many playful arguments with rugby teammates from all over the world. They lack perspective on how big/strong/fast NFL players are.

It was comical b/c they centered the argument around fitness and ball skills. They couldn't comprehend how a big NFL linebacker could possibly lose weight and get fit enough to play 80 minutes.
They also didn't know that an NFL Safety probably played running back his whole life until college.

I have a ton of respect for international rugby players but the best athletes in the US would absolutely compete with the world in rugby within 2 years of training/selection.

I shite you not, My 20 yr old daughter messaged me with a screen shot. A friend of hers sent it to her all offended and called me an instigator. I said tell that bitch I'ma Jedi Troll MFers.

I do what I can. Want some Small Tots?

ETA: backstory: someone bitched about a Pville Sonic on a facebook group. I pretended to be the manager. Hilarity ensued. At one point, the bitch didn't even realize I was quoting Louie Anderson from Coming To America.
