Maybe 'Bama has been a little over-rated this year because of their "brand" name....and it's possible that some SEC teams are catching up to them....

Saban may not like the NIL stuff, but it may be putting some parity into the sport.....

The second Kelly signed jus contract the conference changed just on his reputation alone which I sure coaching circles is even higher than what fans might think. He might not be the most charismatic guy of all time but he brings a proven system of doing things that has resulted in success everywhere he’s been.

Well....it's not like Saban is "Mr. Personality," either....I don't care if Kelly is "charismatic," I like that fact that he's a good coach....

Mind you, I agree with him. I hate NIL and the transfer portal. But CFB is becoming more like the environment he faced in Miami in the NFL and we know how that turned out.

The irony, though, is that we didn’t beat him with a bunch of NIL millionaires. We have a couple of guys with deals to be sure, but nothing like some of our competitors (Bama included).

We beat him with a bunch of guys who bought into what BK was selling and continued to get better each and every week. Everyone from Boutte to Josh Williams played selfless football. Speaking of which, we have multiple former walk ons starting.

Meanwhile Texas A&M’s NIL dollars bought them a 3-6 season to date.

It’s kind of crazy when you think about it.

New OC and DC, rake a hard look at S&C, as well as analyze how to adapt to the new NIL landscape. If I were already tGOAT with all the money in the world and nothing more to prove I'd say frick it and go spoil the grandbabies. Maybe take Corso's slot on College Gameday and prove he's something besides a driven a-hole with no outside life.

This is Saban’s worst coaching since 2007. He has a stacked roster and a Heisman winning QB. He’s losing because his players are out of position, committing penalties, and opposing coaches are out-scheming him.

Lmao
Nick has lost two games to very good teams by a grand total of 2 points.
And everyone... especially his own fans are jumping ship.

If I was nick I would retire at the end of this season and give the Alabama base exactly what they deserve.
20 years of losing after he dumps them.
( I hate bama. But the truth is they will never have another coach as good as him. They should be showering him with roses and begging him to stay until he dies. Because when he is gone the wheels will really come off.)

Finebaum sounds like a bama fan on the rant. He said this is Saban’s worst coaching job. They are 7-2 right now and can still make a ny6 bowl. He seems very butthurt

Not sure how anyone sees that. He seems matter-of-fact to me. And he has been on the Kelly bandwagon since before many on this site.

And it sure looks to me like it is Saban's worst coaching job at Bama. After his first season, this will be only the third time he will have 2 or more losses in the regular season. And the only time he has had 2 losses and two very close wins in the same regular season. And his team is being penalized more than I ever remember.

Some of this is probably the shrinking talent gap but some, like the penalties, is on coaching.

Of course, his worst is better than many coaches best.

Not saying he is wrong but I can't stand Paul Finebaum. Dude flaps in the wind, not gonna embrace him. Sorry not sorry.

The hell with Finebaum! Anytime he comes on, I change the station. His opinion means absolutely nothing to me

yeah- was thinking the same thing. Instead of giving LSU credit the first thing he does is talk about how disappointing Bama’s/Saban’s performance has been. You’d expect that take from someone partial to Alabama.

Posters like you are why College football is on a downward spiral. There is a lot going on that is NOT good for the game. We are on the same path as the decline in the NFL, and you don't even see it.

Here’s the true statement. There was a time not that long ago when parity existed in this conference and losing road games to highly ranked teams wasn’t out of the norm.

With LSU and UT getting their shite together especially along the coaching front for LSU, Bama can’t coast until the SECCG anymore.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Nick Saban’s super power is recruiting and building a process with attention to detail that can be repeated over and over again.

He gets the best players and puts them in a position where they shouldn’t fail. He’s never been the best coach on gameday - in his mind, he’s got you beat the minute the ball kicks off.

If you can keep it close with him, he gets conservative and tight. That’s why bad LSU teams (2021 and 2014) can hang around with his Bama teams.

Going for two twice was a real head scratcher. He kicks the PAT on either TD and they win the game with Reichard's field goal.

He said much the same a few years back after Malzahn had some success against Bama - that Saban's reign was over and Gus had his number. That didn't work out as quite a few of his prognostications don't.

Exactly. What they are seeing is the transfer portal and NIL eroding some of their dominance, but they can’t accept that, so they say Saban can’t coach anymore. COPE.
