Alabama needs a top 10 victory (on the road) to add to their resume.
We've seen this same script play out year after year after year.
This No. 10 ranking is about Alabama.
It also doesn't hurt for TV ratings that this will be a top-10 matchup.

Actually I was at the meeting of all the various ranking systems including the ap coaches and computer programmers and this was a hot topic.
We almost debutteded at No. 1 to help Bama more but the aTm contingent that always gets the ags in preseason top 6 nixed it. So #10 we are.

I’m not sure it helps TV ratings that much. I can’t imagine bumping LSU up 5 spots in the polls gains you that many viewers.
Andy why wouldn’t they have bumped UGA up to 2 if they’re trying to pad ratings by inflating teams rankings? On top of that it’s really not that much of a stretch to put UGA at 2. I think 1 vs 2 in the regular season would draw way more attention than 6 vs 10 just because of the how rare a 1 vs 2 match up in the regular season is.

All moot, to be honest. Bama pulls away in 2nd half and matches the spread 35-23. They have a loss and have had two weeks to prepare - we ain’t sneaking up on them. Even if we did win out, Committee would take a 11-1 Tulane over a 2-loss LSU for playoffs

Tulane with probably the best QB in college at the time. Why would they take them now?
Besides, we’d run circles around FSU if we played them now. Tennessee loss was legit, but I still feel we played our worse game against them. Some credit to them, but we just didn’t execute.

What’s to be “leary” about? You can make a case and say it really only benefits LSU.. We have two losses and sitting at 10th.. Beat Bama and we move on up.. It wouldn’t matter where we are ranked if Bama wins bc they are still a one loss team with that only loss being a close one to Tennessee on the road

Ole Miss is #11. Do you think they should be above us when we beat them by 25 points? Look at the teams behind us and their schedules and then you'll see why we are #10. UCLA might be the only other team who might be worthy of the 10 spot over LSU since they have just 1 loss, but that's about it.
Also, if Bama wins out, they are in the playoff regardless. If you win the SEC, you're in. The only way an SEC Champ would get held out of the playoff is if there would be a 3-loss team that somehow made it in the title game and won it.

It’s easy to see why Louisiana ranks close to last or dead last in education. We have some certified retards as fans. We ran through the number 7 team in the country at the time. Why would we not be ranked high. Even if we are higher than what we thought, why are people bitching about a great ranking? Enjoy this. We were hot dog shite for two years. Enjoy it!!
