This is a case of the committee covering their arse. They see there’s a possibility of LSU winning out and making it to the SEC Championship game. What happens if they make it there and win? This ranking makes it possible for them to win out and get into the CFP. They won’t leave the SEC champs out of the CFP.

It really does not matter at this point in the season. Both teams need a win to get to the SEC championship

I think the ranking is correct. All of you negaTigers are hand wringing pussies. LSU beating Florida and rolling over a good Ole Miss team is all you need to see. This conspiracy bull shite is ridiculous. The committee sees a LSU team playing at a high level with a better resume than everybody behind them.

We've seen Alabama opponents ridiculously ranked in order for them to build a better resume.

Not so fast my friend... Florida is in a bad spot right now trying to figure out who they are going to be. It was nice to win it on the road, and that's about as far as it goes for a quality win.

Ole Miss being at #7 was a bit high for them given their schedule. Prior to us, their opponents are a combined 25-26. Their back half schedule steps it up a bit, and it would benefit us if they continue to win.

So, with these two pieces, and seeing how we struggled offensively early on, It's a fair question to ask what our identity really is? Are we the team that looked bad offensively? Are we really the team that put up 45 points in consecutive weeks, looking good doing it?

I feel we're somewhere in between. We struggled, we learned, we grew, and we showed that we can exploit favorable matchups. Our true identity comes when we prove to the world that the offensive explosion is repeatable, regardless of who our opponent is.

Abolutely. Its fools gold pre Bama

I'd be excited after the game to be ranked 10. It doesn't move the needle today. I believe we can win, but until we do its' just holding a place.

And frankly, a 2-loss team, ranked No. 10 at this stage of the season, is a joke.

How can you be upset about a high ranking?

fricking insane man.

This makes sense.

But consider this. Alabama gets a top 10 win, then look who's right behind LSU in the poll - Ole Miss. Ole Miss moves up to No. 10 after LSU loses, and Alabama gets back-to-back top 10 wins.

This will be extremely important in the case where Alabama wins out, Georgia beats Tennessee, and Alabama has to jump the Vols in the polls to make the playoffs with each team having 1 loss and Tennessee owning the head-to-head.

They don't care week 1. Just like bumping ga down to 3 and Tenn 1. They set it up. They know both ga and Bama big favorites so they bump up LSU and Tenn so ga and Bama will have better wins.

Nope.
Life is too short to dwell on such things.

In your opinion, who deserves it more? The committee isn’t the only people who have rated us at 10

FCarole, I agree that the jury is still out in regards to how good LSU can be. My point is that we still have a better resume than those ranked behind LSU in the NC playoff poll. We were voted #10 on this fact and not that it was some type of conspiracy to put up a top ten matchup for ESPN marketing purposes. I think LSU would be a favorite at present against any time behind us in theh poll. Thanks for your well thought out input.
