He’s done fairly well through several postseasons, so far.
Which makes the decision to start Dubon in CF when Chas probably should have been playing even worse

Yeah me too for the most part but talking about it for half of these threads is a bit ridiculous at this point.

Glad we got a 2-0 lead since I’ll be in tiger stadium this afternoon and only be able to peep in and check scores.
Scratch one across the board early and really put the pressure on Cole to be perfect the rest of the way and the pressure on their offense to respond. Lfgooo

Dusty Baker said Mancini is set to DH in Game 3: “The DH the next couple days against guys that he has seen is going to be Mancini, and then we'll see. If Mancini doesn't show much improvement... I love David Hensley. I'm one of the guys that helped put him on the team.”
K Boycini against Cole. Why not.

I guess in some ways playing all the different goofy players (like Dubon) has mattered at all. While I would never want Dubon to start (or even have to play) in these games, we are certainly better that our subs had more playing time and our lineup is set.
Look at the Yankees. They still aren’t sure who should play some of their positions.
There is certainly more to managing than only following analytics. Not saying Dusty is great at all. But analytics are a tool, a very useful one, but not the only one.

I like Javier because unlike Framber and LMJ, it seems like not much bothers him. If Javier gets beat, it probably will be because he can’t command his stuff, not because he becomes rattled by something that happens.

It probably won’t work. But I did see an article saying that Mancini has more experience at Yankee stadium and pretty good numbers there. Cross your fingers that he will come around tonight!

It’s quite the luxury to have your Game 3 starter scratched from a dumb injury and none of us really care

So when/if your prediction fails, you going to come back and admit your mistake or just disappear?

Javier is 7th in strike outs with only 148 innings
If anyone can find the over/under for strikes outs let me know. All I can find is cole 6.5

So we know the book on Javi. It comes down to whether he can locate. When he's off, it's falling behind in the count early, running up a big pitch count and pitching himself out of the game by the 4th or 5th inning.
I'm a little bit worried about rust with how little he's pitched recently. He's only thrown 1.1 innings and 21 pitches in the last 21 days. He did throw a stimulated game but that can't capture the intensity and the mental taxation of a road playoff start.
You can't really blame anyone. He pitched game 1 of the DS and then had to be saved for a start that didn't come around with the sweep and then the rotation reset for the CS. Just a matter of circumstance that he hasn't thrown much. We're to the point of the series with the schedule that it's going to be important to get some length out of starters. You've potentially got 4 games in a row without an off day so if we don't get length from the starters, you start pinching the bullpen.

I mean the really good news is you have 3 other “starters” that can go after game 3.
Plus JV/Framber in 6/7
