Deviated Septum Surgery

Anyone had it and had long lasting success? My ENT said that my right nostril is almost closed, and my long term sinus issues could be fixed as well as breathing issues if I had the surgery but after speaking with quite a few people who've had it and weren't successful, I'm starting to lean towards just dealing with my nasal strips to sleep at night. Thoughts?

I had it to help snoring (and to straighten out my septum).
Didn't do shite for my snoring, and the recovery was pretty shitty.

Didn't fix shite for me. Arguably made it worse. Did FESS and septo at same time, recovery was brutal

Helped, but it was not the game changer I thought it would be. I broke my nose as a young kid and did the septum surgery later in life, perhaps if I had fixed it when it broke the outcome would have been better.

Have you read the thread on taping your mouth shut while you sleep?

Had it done in 2018, had 90 plus percent closure in one nostril and had significant trouble breathing through my nose. Had septum straightened and turbinates reduced. I didn’t have any stints. The recovery took about 5 days. Then I was just extra aware of my nose, wouldn’t say it was super painful but then again I took the hydrocodone on a schedule. It was impressive what same out of my nose after surgery.
It helped me be able to breath through my nose. I still get allergies, but nothing like it used to be. I also use saline spray daily which I find helps a ton.

I had the surgery and it worked for about a decade. Then right back where I started.

I had it, and it was worth it. I was in my mid-twenties and had a deviated septum and a big honking hump right in the middle of my nose. I was self-conscious about it and so I researched a lot and found that I could totally get the nose job done (LINK / ). Decided to go for it and wasn't disappointed. Everything went well and it looked freaking awesome. I felt more confident than ever before, and even got a few chicks because of my new good looks. So yes, I think it is worth it.
