My dad moved us from south Florida to BR in the late 60s. I wanted to attend Miami, dad couldn't afford it so I ended up at LSU. I now reside in Florida but my LSU flag waves proudly in front of my home,

I watched the LSU vs OM while living with my Mom in Laurel, Miss. I was 12 years old when LSU totally destroyed OM as I sat in our living room by myself the whole game unable to pull away from it. Bert Jones and crew cut up OM and I was absolutely stunned how powerful the Tigers looked.
That made me a Tigers fan for life and especially when I left at 17 and came back to Louisiana and have been here since. Tommy Casanova had a run back for a TD and an interception who is now an eye Dr. here in my hometown of Crowley.

My father had a lab in the old sugar mill. His lab mate became chancellor of LSU. When I had the chance to walk out to the street I saw a cannon, a plane and Tiger Stadium.
My dad came to Baton Rouge to work at Esso. Disliked that I guess and went to graduate school in Chemical Engineering, finishing in 1968. We then moved to Ohio where he taught Chemical Engineering, but at 8 years old I was already a diehard Tiger fan. We listened to WWL to follow LSU while driving home from the Zips games on Saturday nights. I came down to go to LSU for college and basically never left.
Dad introduced me to the Chancellor you spoke of, Paul Murrill when I started at LSU. Murrill graduated from and taught at LSU during its golden age for Chemical Engineering - they produced some highly acclaimed academics and practicing engineers back then.

Whats up with these dumb off-season threads?

Being born to a former LSU football player in Louisiana. Earliest football memories are watching LSU whoop FSU and the oranges in Tiger Stadium.

My dad is from Ellisville Mississippi and my mom is from Boston Massachusetts and they met in medical school in New Orleans. I’ve lived here almost all my life and my first memory is of Terry Robiske and Charles Alexander and Chawly Mac! I’ve lived and died with my Tigers for over 50 years. Damn I’m old. lol

My entire family is from New Orleans but I'm from Pensacola. I grew up a Florida State fan but moved to Mobile in 2007 and went to my first LSU game (LSU vs. Auburn) that year. From that point on I was hooked. Ended up going to grad school at LSU years later, but I was already all in on my fandom

My dad was an alumnus.
When we lived in Dubai, my family state-side would tape record the few LSU games that were televised (along with Price is Right and Loony Tunes episodes).
Me and my dad would watch whatever games they sent us, even if LSU lost.
When we moved back to the states, we'd watch whenever LSU was on TV. When TigerVision came out, the old man would pay to watch Tiger football.
So, it was a forgone conclusion that I would one day attend LSU.

My PawPaw was a civil engineer (Delgado educated) and one of his early projects was the north end-zone of Tiger Stadium, then Hatcher/Hodges dorms and later south end-zone and the dorms. He got interested in LSU football after working on the stadium and then sent his kids there and almost every degree in our family is from LSU.
My cousin, who also became an engineer, has a framed blueprint of an old version of TS that she pulled from his desk.

No choice. Born into LSU family.

Went to school there in the early 80's.
Dad / fam was from NW Louisiana, blue collar/farmers, didn't give a shite about sports. They just worked from dawn til dusk everyday.
First I ever heard about LSU was some big news story when I was a Sr at Natchitoches Central - Bo Rein and the plane crash.

That’s a coincidence that he’s from Magnolia. My grandfather grew up in McComb and he played football for LSU before WWII then went to the war and came back and coached under Bernie Moore then became head football coach at Bolton High in Alexandria. I started listening to LSU games with him when I was a child on WWL (John Ferguson) and got hooked. He’d take me to the Tulane game every year either in the Dome or Tiger Stadium. We drove up to Jackson every year for the Ole Miss game. Back in those days they played a double header in Jackson. Ole Miss vs LSU early game and Miss State late game usually against Bama. Fun times

My mother went to LSU from 1951-55 and was a Tiger Fan. She grew up in a very religious family and when LSU played Ole Miss was nervous about saying Go to Hell Ole Miss because she was afraid my grandfather (a deacon in the church) would hear her on the radio. She said it anyway - just not quite as loud as the other students in the student section. My dad is from Alabama and is a Tide fan. He loved Bear Bryant and was offered to walk-on walk-on for Kentucky in 1951(he ended up playing football for Southeastern because he coudn't afford to walk-on). As a child, growing up here, we always went to the LSU/Alabama game. Whether it was in Baton Rouge, Tuscaloosa or Birmingham - we never missed it. Although my dad wanted us kids to root for Bama - my heart was always with the Tigers. It helped that I grew up here. I ended up going to LSU and a getting my undergrad and law degree. But, sitting in Tiger Stadium, Memorial Stadium or Bryant Denny Stadium as a kid with my mom in purple and gold and my dad wearing crimson with his houndstooth hat secured my love for the Tigers since childhood.

Being a good Catholic boy and growing up in Eunice,LA in the 70- 80's I was a huge Notre Dame fan. My freshman year in high school I won two tickets to an LSU game. I could not find anyone to go with me (15 yo). So I told my parents I was staying at a friend's and drove to the game. It was LSU/Auburn and it was packed. I didn't know where to park or how to get around but found my to the south end zone. It was a night I will never forget. I asked my dad for season tickets for y graduation present. I jave been a season ticket holder and die hard fan ever since.

Did the same thing, playing NCAA 98 (on computer!) with friends in Pennsylvania. Rule was no one could be PSU so I went down the map to LSU. I have remained a fan since.
