We have lots of crony capitalism in the US, but that’s different than actual capitalism

Capitalism is based on human nature. It was invented 10 million years ago when Ugg the caveman told his neighbor Grogg: 'I'll give you this halibut I just caught for one of those geese.'

Socialism/Communism is based on envy. It's wrong for some people to have more stuff than other people. It's one of the 7 deadly sins.

Or maybe it isn’t compatible with our modern culture?

Look how China is shielded from any blame for anything it is doing? Because US interests and profits.

Look at how many tub of lard Americans are waddling around? Because we have to maximize profits by selling garbage food with corn syrup, etc.

Hey do you like that stand of 200 year old hardwoods? Tough shite we are going to flatten them and build low quality apartments that will turn to trash soon

Meanwhile almost all information about products and economic issues seems to be clouded in a fog of deceit and half truths to keep us all in the dark. It is like most everything in our society is a lie in order to maximize profit.

I don’t support Socialism nor Communism. Just taking a step back to evaluate my beliefs.

None of this is because of capitalism.

It because of slimy politicians who have sold our country to China and what they don't physically own, they manipulate and control because they own the politicians in Washington.

All capitalism has accomplished is lifting billions of people from abject poverty to a better standard of living than royalty and (equivalent to today's billionaires) ultra rich enjoyed just a hundred or so years ago.

Communism can only go down from here. 100% serious.

This is my favorite part of your post because you draw parallels to China.

Go look up the Chinese ghost cities. That's far more offensive to urban planners than anything America does. At least our urban sprawl serves a functional purpose.

Capitalism does not mean "free market"
Capitalism does not mean "free market"
Capitalism does not mean "free market"

You can't have a society where those with the most money rule everything. You MUST have a State, representing the people as a whole, to act as a regulator of the power of the wealthy.

Crony capitalism is almost as bad as communism and that is what we have right now with the corruption and criminals in D.C., CONgress, Corporate and at every level of government.

What you really need to think about is the extent to which democracy makes sense.

I can agree with this.

So then the question becomes: In the real world, in American society, can it ever be used correctly?

Not now that we are a post-Christian society. It only works somewhat fairly if Christian concepts are inculcated in the majority of the population.

You seem to have an issue with corporatism, not the free market.

thats a personal choice and has nothing to do with corn syrup, has to do with consuming more overall but mainly due to sedetary lifestyle im the us.

bottomline is it wouldnt even fricking matter if not for the government getting involved in healthcare. before it ddnt affect me one bit. SO blame socialist policies making others pay for dumb people making dumb choices

well if you dont like it, buy the land and hold it as a private nature preserve...nothing fricking stopping you.

lol more because of the media and big government being in bed with each other and on the take. nothing to do with capitalism

ill be honest, nothing you wrote makes any sense and your lack of understanding of principles is outright scary.

That's just a commentary on corrupt politicians...of which any system has...?

Given the freedom to make choices, people will still flock, even blue haired hippos, with bad BO, tattoos, and obsession with pop culture.
If given no choice, they would still flock.

You don't think communism does this?

If you think all these lies are to maximize profit, I think you're wrong. I think it's population control. Agree to disagree here.

Yes, voluntary transactions are so bad.

We all need a government monopoly to set prices via central planning, and accept what our overlords give us.

Humans can't handle comfort. Luxury and comfort was supposed to fuel our drive to make the world a better place.

We did, and humans were too soft and let it destroy them.

Let these people fail. Its not the free market, its their inability to reign in their own lusts. Let them fail.

So many conservatives think that the choice is either "private companies are allowed to censor you and also have the right to promote LGBT nonstop" or "the government owns all businesses and you are their slave"

That is called Lightswitch Brain thinking and is retarded.

Literally would have none of the conveniences you have now. TD would not exist nor would the phone/computer your posting to it from. Humans will always have corruption, capitalism is not exempt.
