#1 ranked kicker in the country is at Byrd in Shreveport and currently a junior. He’s currently verbally committed to Miami but I’m pretty sure that can change from kids on the team

Abram is #1 2024 kicker (there’s #1 from every class…Alex McPherson was it last year, Peyton this year, Abram next year) and it’s a strong verbal to Miami…he also had a full ride from Arkansas on the table before that. If LSU put the press on who knows?

I think the best kids have been at it so long they’re keen on getting and accepting the full ride as soon as possible. It’s a badge of honor to get off the board first.

Funny thing about LA and rankings is they bumped Abram down to #2 (he’d already accepted his offer I think) for a kid at Parkway in Bossier City named Aeron Burrell…all because he won the kickoff comp at the NSC. Kid was a phenom in soccer and can kick it a mile, but I don’t think anyone thinks he’s as accurate as Abram on PKs.

The kid from Parkway kicked a game-winning fieldgoal as time expired against Haughton Friday night. A 50 yarder. He is considered the #1 kicker in the country as a junior.

I was told over the weekend that his commitment was wavering a bit but honestly, I have absolutely no way of knowing if that is true or not. I have seen the kid from Parkway as well. The Parkway kid is not nearly as consistent and clearly his velocity of the bad off of his foot is not as fast

Abram is so damn good. He’s a finalist at every camp he goes to…and has shown that quality for years.

Ah, figured it was a recent development. Must be why they changed their mascot as to avoid confusion

Parkway has a kid who hit a 52 yarder a few weeks ago, and Byrds (Miami commit) kicker had a 49 yarder last week.

Are you suggesting that special teams aren’t important? Just curious. I, for one, think kickers have become more important, not less. Everything from field goals to kickoffs. Nobody seems to think they are important until something goes wrong , then the uproar surfaces about why we don’t have a kicker that we can depend on. If a kicker even wins one game a year (especially a really big match up), then he is easily worth the scholarship. How many kids have scholarships on the team and never play a meaningful down? It’s more than one, so, yes, a kicker!!

So what you are saying is LSU should sign the top ranked kicker and punter every year. Great way to build a championship team. 8 kickers on scholarship. Troll ot not you are frickING RETARDED. Never go full retard.

Some excellent kicking prospects are unfortunately hidden in underperforming programs:
