Member's Mark High Protein Grain-Free Chicken & Vegetable Recipe Dry Dog Food (28 lbs.)

$36.98

ETA: This is what I buy my dogs. It's definitely gone up in price over the last year, but it's cheaper than $71 and comes with four more pounds of food.

High prices from inflation will also impact rescues that are trying to get dogs adopted and donations to rescues and other charities. Vet bills are going up too.

Everything we do, from the food , to litter ( gone from $14 to $19 in a year) , to vet bills, to transportation costs (a packed van goes from Alabama to Connecticut/ Rhode Island once a month or so) prices have skyrocketed and are wiping us out.
Further, I imagine it will impact on the other end of adopters becoming more unwilling to adopt due to their high costs.

Friskies cat food was 50-55 cents a can before this mess and now is 71 cents a can. I believe that is right at 30% minimum increase.

I have 9 dogs and they go thru 50# of food in 10 days. Your dogs must be fat, cause
Mine sure aren’t skinny

Tell me about it. Same for Wellness and Natural Balance I use. I was paying low 50's just a couple of years ago. Now its in the low 70's. Unbelievable.

Diamond Naturals is a decent higher protein option that I use for one of my pups.
Use Blue Buffalo Wilderness Salmon for lab due to a probable grain allergy.

Just wait, the Mrs decided our pup needed variety, so she keeps no less than 6 different 'flavors' of Blue Buffalo Wilderness on hand.. each in their own container, failure to ensure a different flavor is served at each serving is just not allowed.

I don't want to know what it's costing....yes, I know he's a spoiled rotten critter, but i think he often eats better than we do.

feeding your dog Blue Buffalo may actually be killing them, so he is almost already there

Is this true? She's 12 years old and healthy as shite. No idea the Blue Buffalo wasn't a good food.

It works for her so we stuck with it.

Based on the quick search I did, we order it about every two months. I can't imagine having a large dog that goes through a ton of food.

im not a fan of BB but im not going as far to say its killing your dog. There have some anecdotal evidence of some cases of animal developing different ailments while on this diet. There is no real hard evidence (or at least since the last time i checked on it) of real association.

im not a fan because its a premium dog food that charges a lot of money for essentially good marketing. its not better (and arguably worse) than other brands of cheaper value.

Our 35lb bag of Pro Plan, chicken and rice, is about the same price. Last usually a month and a half. Use to pay about 30-40 bucks for it 10 years ago.

Side Note: Blue Buffalo sucks…

i got away from Victor as it gave my dog gas. Was a great food. Owner sold to a big corp(my FIL knows him) and supposedly he is starting a new dogfood company.
