How long you been driving? Did you go to a driving academy? Was getting the license a pain in the arse?

I been thinking about doing this. I’ve been a plant baw for 26 years and to be honest, I’m fricking tired of that life.

Would like to spend the next 10 years driving/seeing the country while coasting into retirement.

My dad, who passed away yep years ago (officially tomorrow) drove trucks his entire career, basically.

I rode with him when I was a kid during some summers. Huge respect for truck drivers.

My dad drove over-the-road for JB Hunt, KLLM, and Vernon Sawyer through his career.

My grandpappy started driving trucks after the carbon plant shut down. He made 100k a year hauling volatile chemicals in the 80s.

Just started for McLeod Software. Our Transportation Management System dispatches and pays most of the industry. Been fun so far.

I work from home when I want, played golf yesterday for work, eat at steak houses, and make more money than that.

And dudes will be in here telling you trades are better than going to college

I'm surprised Werner pays this well. What are you making per mile? If not by the mile, how are you paid?

Are you leasing your truck through them?

My dad was a driver for a bridge building company for like 35 years. When he finally retired his knees were shot from all the in and out of the truck.

It was fun riding with him as a kid.

There’s a few of us here! I just recently got back into the training side at PTL, am at .68 now for all truck miles. If I stick with it (I’ve given it up before) 100k will be easy. Glad things are working out for you. Btw are you on a dollar account? Kinda sounds that way with the high rate/low miles with multi stops. Edit: otr in a ‘20 Cascadia
