Motels are ridiculously priced and nightlife is limited.

The Quality Inn on the Opelika Highway is cheap-- sometimes offers rooms in the 60-70 $ range. Just walk the four miles to Jordan-Hare-- it's good for the cardiovascular.

Nightlife is limited there, unless you dig bowling or hanging out at a barbecue joint.

It's a good trip, one of the best college towns in the nation, and the stadium ambience and traditions are spectacular.

Now, you must have been drunk out of your mind and not get out much. Talk about exaggeration. Lol.

Good people. Good ol boys. Not stuck up pricks like the Tide. Might be able to find a hotel in Opelika. You’ll enjoy it.

I did back in the early 90s when I was living in Atl. Ended up in jail at halftime cause I went onto the field to get my wineskin a cop took from my buddy and I ended up punching him..Only good thing that happened was I was wearing a "F... Auburn" button. This AU coed took me up on it. Took her back to my bus and hit it in the bathroom...

Was there when the fire burned up the AU football players coloring books (Spurrier quote) as the library went up in flames. Longer drive than you might think; almost in Georgia. Dinky area. Very loud fans. Tight seating: steeply graded. Eagle is cool in pregame. You should go.

I have made the Auburn trip.

Nice trip. Pretty campus.

I rank Auburn behind only Texas A&M as having the friendliest and least belligerent fans in the SEC.

Yes, been many times. Great trip. 200? —LSU lost. Had a coworker in from the UK. First American football game ever. He was a 6’6 soccer hooligan. Stayed the night in some small town motel about 60 miles out of Auburn. Remember the carpet being wet. Drank all night.

Pregame at Auburn, some kids throwing a football hit the UK dude by accident. He throws the ball as far as possible in the other direction. Bloke passes out in the stadium and tries to fight everyone. On the way out in traffic, a kid walking down the road celebrating the Auburn win with a Pom Pom (shaker ) gets noticed by said UK guy and gets pushed into a ravine of Kudzu.
My advice is to find a soccer hooligan to accompany you.

Been there twice and, surprisingly, Auburn people were really nice both times. far better than Ole Piss fans, faggies or even some LSU clowns.

I went 3 straight games in a row- 2004, 2006, 2008

Great game day atmosphere and tail gates. Town sucks, kinda small, so we stayed in Montogomery and drove in, and next 2 times stayed in Atlanta and drove in a few hours before gametime.

Looking at going this year. Is it a decent road game to make ? Any recs or info appreciated.

I went to LSU @ AU 7x while living in ATL, the ATL LSU alumni bus trips down there and to Bama were awesome, especially coming back from Bama after the legendary Rohan to Reid all game long spectacle. If you are going to see the Braves you might as well spend the night at a hotel in the Battery or nearby as you will be taking a straight shot down 285 to 85S and you will gain an hour going from EST to CST and have a lot of food/beverage options in ATL.

On my first trip there, I was surprised to be told "Welcome to Auburn" by so many fans, but it's happened every time I've been to Auburn.

Always a few drunk college jerks at any game, but their fans are otherwise really nice to LSU fans. Good stadium, attractive campus, friendly town. It's a good away game experience.

I live in Atlanta. I’ve driven down game day a few times. It’s easily done. Traffic leaving is a pain, but it is everywhere on game day.

AU is nice. People are cool. Exciting environment. I would personally stay at the battery in ATL near the baseball stadium and then drive down in the morning and come back later that day. You will have a blast for the Braves game. It’s too late to get a similar hotel in AU.

I’d rank experiences I’ve been too so far: LSU (obvi), UGA, TN (crazy experience), AU, …. Distant next is Bama bc I hate them and that crowd, then SC. The game cock experience is crap. Was there when Saban was just starting to get it going and it was awesome.

It was me and some friends' first ever road game we visited, we stayed at a place called White Oak Plantation and had an absolute blast. Spent the night before drinking and fishing in the lake it's on and drove right into Auburn hassle free the next day.
