Bummed the last cigarette off Ron Wood in the elevator at the Royal Orleans. When I said I couldnt take his last one he said no problem mate, I got plenty in the room. Was super nice of him.

I saw Keith but he was being carried down the hall by two dudes passed out wearing cowboy boots. At that time the Stones were my band so we got a room in that hotel just to try to party with them

Not one of my favorites but I’ve been to a few concerts. Met Michael Anthony at a daiquiri shop in New Orleans. When I say met it was basically me saying hi and moving on.

Sat next to Weird Al on a flight to Gainesville, Florida where he was performing later that night. I pretty much left him alone as he was a bit shy at first but was able to make a bit of small talk which led to a fun conversation and outcome. I was being picked up by a friend of mine who was quite attractive plus a huge Weird Al fan. Weird Al provided an angle for me to woo her by essentially playing the role of my wingman and lined us up with tickets and all access passes to his show. After that we dated for a bit but went our separate ways once graduation rolled around and we were heading off to different parts of the country for jobs.

Got drunk one night with the Black Crowes after a concert around 1992 at the Dungeon. Chris Robinson was all f'd up. But his brother the guitarist, was mostly sober and spoke with a few of us for a little while. Just a regular guy, a little younger than the rest of them.

He was amazed at their success, said Chris was the band and without him they would be just another band from the Athens/ Atlanta scene. Meanwhile the other guys were busy with women and getting fricked up on booze and blow...at least until about 3-330 am that morning. Then none of us could form coherent sentences.

I was dragged to Horde Fest, summer of ‘95, at what was then called Nissan Pavilion in Virginia. I wasn’t in to any of the acts, so decided to take a walk. This big ole dude, diamonds in his teeth, walks over to me and asks me for a Newport. Then he asked me to buy the whole pack. I was 17 so I declined. He says it’s worth my time and do I puff. He leads me backstage and there is sitting Ziggy Marley. The guy was his bouncer. Smoked weed w/ them.

Buddy was a big time DJ in NYC in the early aughts. He let me come hang at some private events he was working. He played Justin Timberlake’s album release after party. He was very unassuming and a cool guy.

He also DJ’ed a party for Prince. My God was he tiny. I’m all of 5’8 and felt like Shaq next to him. He was very aloof.

Cousin was in a band called Birdmonster. They were darlings of the indie blogpost scene years ago. But I doubt anyone has heard of them.

Went to a meet and greet with Ted Nugent a few years ago at a sportsman show in the Cajun Dome. There were probably on about 50 people in the room or so. It was weird, we all had to leave our phones with security so no one could take pics or record him talking. He went on to rant about the Obama's in the white house and such. They did have a photographer that took pics of each one of us individually with him and sent them to us later.

Met David Allan Coe briefly by his tour bus behind Murphy's back in the 90's. Asked him to play Dakota the Dancing Bear that night. And he did.

When I was in grade school, my dad’s office was in the Cordell Hull Building in Nashville (next to Municipal Auditorium). I was in the car waiting for him and looked to my left and saw Heart’s tour bus. I walked up to it and was given a tour. I knew right then I wanted to marry Nancy Wilson.

I've had several fortunate encounters over my lifetime:

1. Got into an impromptu hot dog eating contest at Nathan's with Bo Diddley...he won.
2. I met Patty Smith at a Poetry Slam in 1980. She was in New Orleans for 2 shows. We hit it off for an hour or so...long story short..we spent the rest of the night playing Twister with a few other people in one of the back rooms at Jimmy's.
3. Played hacky-sack with Jose Feliciano in 1978. You would be surprised how good he is, but I am ashamed to say....he cheats.

I got tore up with Tyler Childers and his drummer at Hogs for Cause a few years back. Met them back stage after their set and hung out while Turnpike played. Had a beer shotgunning contest with the drummer. Good times

Owned and operated a taxi cab in Baton Rouge for many years. I was an independent, owned one car. I once picked up 3 members of Papa Roach from the downtown Hilton. Take a guess where they went..........to play golf at Webb Memorial. They said they liked the peace and quiet and most everyone on a golf course didn't know who they were so they were left alone. Also met the bassist of Blind Melon. He said he was from New Orleans and he wrote the song "No Rain" which was about a past girlfriend who suffered from severe depression. He went to play tennis at a court behind a strip mall across Corporate from Whole Foods.

Went to a small school in Georgia and my neighbor for many years was Zac Brown. Used to hang out with him all the time while in college. Many late nights in his house playing NBA jam. Saw him in Chicago at the house of blues with about 25 people in the venue and we chatted for a bit, this was just as he was on his way up.

In 1987, Chicago played Mobile. After the show we were outside in the parking lot when the limo pulled out, so we followed it back to the hotel.

They went upstairs and hit the small lounge. There was nobody but the band members and the bartender in there. So my cousin and me went in and hung out with them for about 2 hours.

We got several pictures and autographs.

I have met Mark Slaughter, David Lee Roth, Eddie Van Halen and Olivia Newton John.

I was sitting a few feet away from Foxes and Fossils during the recordings of several of their posted YouTube videos. Met Tim's wife and Maggie's parents. Nice folks. Live shows will be coming soon.

Have had a drink with Ksenia Buzina and Leonid and Friends a couple times. She is not only gorgeous, but also one of the most interesting women on the planet. Speaks seven languages fluently and has a university degree in Law and International Economics. Leonid's son Roman was educated in the West and speaks English fluently. Gave me comp tickets to one of their concerts.
