Looking at getting the snip in the not too distant future. If you’ve had it done, did it mess with your training? I’m asking because I have several ultras planned in the next few months.

I could lift weights after about a week, but I didn't run for a month or so. 100% back to normal was a month for me.

You’re going to feel like you’re ready to go on day 2 or 3. Do not go. You must wait. You’ve been warned lol.

I appreciate all the input. I am more than likely going to shoot (pun intended) for the first part of next year. I usually cut back on my weekly mileage in early spring.

I think it depends on the person and the procedure you have. Me and a coworker got it done around the same time, he had the no scalpel procedure and I had the traditional procedure. His recovery time was significantly shorter than mine, mine was over a week. Some of that could have been my fault. I thought I could go with just tight boxer briefs around the house and be fine. I felt like my insides moved every time I went to get up out of bed to use the bathroom or whatever. Weird sensation for sure. Then I got the jock strap and it was much better. I had pain for about a week but his didn’t last more than a couple of days and he looked at me crazy when I described what I was feeling. My doctor definitely cut more of my Vas out than his did, during the procedure the doctor held up what I swear was a 2” long piece of it and smiled and said “this is how much I’m taking out”. Lol. It wasn’t funny at the time. I didn’t lift weights until I was pain free. And when I started hitting the gym again I wore the jock strap for a week or so.

I was gonna say you’re gonna have to stop lifting weights and start playing soccer or tennis after you get em cut off but you already run marathons

10000% get some compression underwear, it will speed it up a little bit.

I got my nuts cut on a Friday, I was back to weights on Wednesday and running the week after.

Congrats on the guiltless gut spraying.

Take a week off. You'll probably feel perfectly fine after a day or so, but you gotta give yourself time to heal

UPDATE:
since the thread gained new life I figured I’d update. I signed up for a 100miler in feb with shorter ultras every month leading up to that. Also planning a rim2rim2rim Grand Canyon run at the end of April so looks like I’ll shoot (pun intended) for a snip in March.
