Some may disagree, but the best way to see the BVIs (if you have boating experience) is to charter a boat and sail from island to island. If you don’t have boating experience can have a similar experience if you charter a boat with a captain.

Jost is a cool island. Is it cooler than any of the others? Probably not. But it’s a great island. Foxy’s gets the press but Soggy Dollar Bar is one of my favorite bars in the world.

Soggy Dollar was my favorite bar in the BVIs, that and the Willie T.

A boat is by far the way to go. Exploring and seeing the places where tourist don't usually go or see makes a boat definitely worth it.

Agree with all above.

Would also add that personalities of hired captains are highly variable, and you will be in close quarters with everyone on the boat. If you have a friend that knows how to sail, it might be better to bareboat with friend as captain.
