No , It will be because the trucks that make this country run are about to come to a halt, and when they do it will be hard to get anything, including food. If gas is that much diesel could go to $10 and there are sources that say this summer it might even be scarce or rationed.
Should that happen shelves empty and people get hungry, we've already seen a little of it with the baby formula fiasco, you very well may see some of them get lynched or taken out.

This nation's ancestors crushed skulls/tarred and feather'd politicians for whiskey taxes.
They'd (rightfully) refer to us all as emasculated lemmings, if they could see us today.

Will the prices drop when the recession hits?

81 million people will be somewhat satisfied about that. I'll drive less.

They also worked black people to death and engaged in genocide of indigenous peoples. Manly.

Is that why the USA is the ONLY example where the slave population GREW after importation was banned - through natural population increase?
Don't be an idiot

Since you want a history lesson, people have been engaging in genocide of indigenous peoples for all of time. It wasn’t invented here, and it certainly still exists post 1865. Happening today all over Africa.

I don’t understand why we don’t have one cocktail of fuels for the entire nation with the limited refinement issues at hand?

Thank you for the revelation. I suggested nothing to the contrary.

I’m already adding gas allowance to employees checks based on how far they commute. Up to 6 dollars a day.
I’ll probably have to increase it if it goes much higher

A hurricane is almost assured. And as bad is it will be for the people directly in the storms path there will be other issues. An organization I am associated with has already purchased most of the supplies needed for a couple of week long trips. We have enough for 1000+ meals a day for 14 days. We have already purchased enough fuel to get there and back once. We dont have a way to store more fuel or we would.
But the increased fuel and food costs will make it harder for us to respond more than twice. Hopefully we will continue to receive donations to keep the pantry stocked.

Actually it’s because it will destroy the economy and our nation. Do you think people can afford the cost of goods that 8 dollar gas gets us to? Shipping will be outrageous

Nothing. The yuppy crowd living in their gated communities will still tank up their Lexus and the grunts driving their Honda and Camry's will still struggle to stay above the water. The fraud Joe Biden will still eat his Ice Cream as he pretends to be President and Kamala will still cackle.
Gasoline is about to blow past $ 4.50 (now $4.49) a gallon in my neighborhood.

Dick Shelby only returns to Tuscaloosa a couple of times a year. He lives just a few houses from me and he is never here. His wife is here all the time.
I assume he prefers to live in DC.
Unfortunately we will probably get stuck with Katie Britt as his replacement and I doubt she will be any better.

I bought a new Chevy Colorado Friday and retired my F250 for office needs.

I didn’t know that, but then we assuredly could make something everyone could use?
