Rouse's makes their own sausages. They have all been pretty good. So I tried the Taco one. Tastes just like a taco.

I grilled them. Next move will be a taco sausage poboy with sour cream, taco sauce, cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes.

They went through a time a few years ago that you couldn't depend on consistency in their sausage, especially their hot sausage.

I bought it a few times thinking it was a fluke, but it tasted different each time, and not in a good way.

That is when I decided to start making my own sausages and haven't looked back.

Oh, and this was at their Carrollton Ave. store in Mid-City.

Rouses has the best brand of store bought boudin out there by far.

Rouse's sausage SUCKS!!! Their boudin isn't bad.. I usually buy it when it's on sale.

It's not chorizo. It's flavored like a generic taco made with ground beef and taco seasoning pouches. Has cheese in it as well.

Not earth shattering, but interesting and worth trying.

Sounds similar to the Nacho Libre sausage from Iverstines, makes a helluva hand dipped corndog.
