Congrats JJ. That was a hard fought game, and those Rebels never quit fighting.

That was a hell of a run those Gators put on, and it was fun as hell to watch. I think seasons like this season will be the norm again for St. Amant. I had a great time watching these kids play.

Back when it was 8 teams at state it seemed like St Amant was always there. They have a heckuva team. My heart goes out to those 2 kids that dropped the fly balls in the 6th. If you’re there, go put an arm around them and tell them you’re proud of them.

They beat Acension’s best with a combined 11-0 deficit. You earned it.

Many believe that’s a big reason for the drop off in football. Kids focusing solely on baseball and not playing football. The 2nd baseman this year scored 3 touchdowns in the Spring game in 7th grade and quit the next day to focus on baseball. Pearson is an absolute stud and he quit after an injury freshman year. Can’t fault him, he’s committed to LSU. Hawsey was our best LB in middle school, hasn’t played a down in HS.

Gone to State 4 of the last 5 years, won a title. Baseball has definitely improved at WM.

Shame we didn’t get a Rosepine St Thomas Aquinas matchup for a real 2A championship

I was right behind the plate. The called third strike was a little of the plate. The first two were a foot outside. But it doesn’t matter now. Rebels are State Champs.

St Amant had a good team and very enthusiastic fans. It was a fun game.

Really looking forward to the next couple of years for West Monroe. They could be something special.

Great season for the WM Rebs. Congrats to those young men and the coaches.

Hats off the St Amant as well. Looks like they have a great program going.

Very plausible theory.

I think we are seeing a nation-wide trend on football, especially on the mid-school & high school levels.

With all the focus on FB injuries, especially on head concussions, parents are opting out of allowing their kids play FB.

Think of all the other injuries that are common to FB, such as torn ACLs/MCLs, broken arms, legs, ankles, fingers, noses...separated shoulders, high ankle sprains etc.

Many of these injuries will felt for their lifetime.

Many are wondering if playing FB is really worth it.
