Give a frick about the players and the tournament. A guy like Tari Eason is playing for millions of dollars and an increase in NBA draft grades. We betrayed our players, coach and team

I’m pretty sure the players knew the situation at LSU before they signed on

It appears Willy had done enough damage to the program and university. He needed to be shown the door.

It shows he cares about the public image of LSU. This is an incredibly easy concept. I think if LSU could have headed off the NOA they keep WW. However, there was no way that was going to happen. WW was too sloppy and too stupid with his underhanded dealings and with the NOA coming out Woodward really did not have a choice.

Woodward’s job is to decide what is in the best interests of the athletic department. Effects on potential player contracts are not one of his concerns. shite happens.

Woodward had to do what was best for the athletic department and the university. It's unfortunate for the players, but it had to be done. The fact that the firing was with cause is pretty telling.

I have real questions on the timing of the firing. I find it very suspect and disappointing.

There isn’t an LSU win by firing Wade today.

The NOA had to be released this week due to freedom of information request. What do you think it would be like next week at the tournament with all of those details out there and being asked about at press conferences?

This isn’t hard to understand.

Wade betrayed the players, himself, and the team by not knowing that sending a kid money from his personal checking account thru a gotdamm ACH transfer while under NCAA investigation is the equivalent of doing a line of blow off the center console during a traffic stop for a broken tail light while driving the company car.

All Woodward did was shake his head at the stupidity and fire the dumb sunavabitch.

Knowing the info that’s out there how could they let him coach the tournament? We’d be ostracized and ridiculed... and knowing that he’s probably guilty would you be will8ng to risk your career on Will Wade?

The last 3 basketball coaches have been Trent Johnson, Johnny Jones, and Will Wade - spanning about 13 years. The last two football coaches have been Les Miles and Ed Orgeron - spanning 17 years. Our last athletic director was Joe Alleva, who was at the helm for 11 years. You can't undo over a decade of bad hires, bad buyouts, and bad contract restructuring in a couple of years. LSU is going to pay for terrible hiring decisions, but the university will be better off for it.

Woodward held out as long as he possibly could have.
