The ‘New Orleans trash’ is not really a relevant problem for today

So how do you fix it?
Start at the top. Vote in a different mayor.

We see how well THAT went.

Question to your question, why would you want to stop that?

2. Why is Sterling's death, which is an anomaly when compared to the list of names above, more important than any of the deaths listed?

Election year.

Paul seems like a puppet for SWB. I doubt he is fully in control. And I say this not at all defending him because I don't think he would be police chief if anyone else was in office, but I will be looking for the local news to do a report on this.. Oh wait.. It might upset SWB and they don't want to risk that.

Baton Rouge is a dying city. Democrats outnumber Republicans in the elections that matter and continue to vote for shitty leaders who appease criminals and ignore the true problems in this city. You cannot turn this place around with the current residents. You can only hope to slow the spiral.

Baton Rouge fell victim to an election year ploy by the Democrats to stir up drama to help achieve their political goals. What came from that is the complete destruction of the Baton Rouge Police Department. They have lost and continue to lose officers by the dozen, and those that remain are so overworked and understaffed that they do the bare minimum to stay alive and go home after their shift without facing criminal charges.

In addition, the same citizens that voted for Broome and the idiots on the Metro Council elect judges that continue to dish out slaps on the wrist to violent offenders instead of locking them all behind bars where they belong. Finally, this parish will never support the construction of a new prison, which is desperately needed.

In summary, there is no saving Baton Rouge. Stop voting for Democrats. Pay cops well. Protect them. Encourage them to be proactive. And vote goes judges and DAs who want to punish and remove criminals from society. It’s not hard.

I have two very simple questions for the Baton Rouge Community leaders and activists: 1. What will police reform do to reduce the above list?

I summed this up in a single meme months ago

Did anyone see the m paul interview on WAFB?…. Worth a watch as he explained what the problem is and how to fix it(and it’s f’ing ridiculous).. … pretty much said blacks are killin the person they see in the mirror and insinuated that they need to teach them to kill other races instead of other blacks

I don't know when black culture took such a turn for the worse...Violence, poor health and financial decisions, lack of focus on education, disrespect for their community.... This is not the kind of culture MLK was promoting.

I wanna say in 2016, that’s the year the BRAVE team was going hard and it showed. It was one of the lowest homicide years.

Broome ran on the idea that she would get rid of them because of claims of abuse and that they were racist.

Paul came in and has gone away from hard nose policing and you can see how it quickly has gone down hill.

There is not a way to deal with violent crimes without being heavy handed

I can tell yall what Speedy did about it. Him and his cronies in the Union sold out the rest of the department. They took extra pay and got their buddies in SRT and Air division nice monthly stipends while the main heart of the department got scraps. Some guys actually gained absolutely zero from Speedy and his buddies "negotiations." Now new hires don't have the luxuries the old timers do which makes it even harder to recruit.

It’s the kids from the Katrina era that are adding to the violent crimes. I was part of the Renaissance Village era and student teaching at the time in Baton Rouge. I can only imagine the quality of life those kids who now have kids have had. It’s a vicious cycle.

Haha yes I’m in the idiot in the hallway when a 6th grader told the the Principal “F you Bitch I’m from New Orleans” when Baton Rouge schools were dealing with the aftermath of the Hurricanes and accepting new kids.

I got out of that shite storm as fast as I could.

BRPD can barely staff a shift each night. Part of the reason the officer put on blast the other day falsified his military orders is because he knew they wouldn’t be able to give him off.

Instead of raising the pay, giving officers everything they need to start busting up the streets, and promising to support them, BRPD leadership is worried about bullshite community walks that do nothing but make for good Facebook Live videos. They’re losing officers out the arse but God forbid Koy Moore get his feelings hurt.

The entire department above the rank of SGT needs to be removed and start from scratch.

You missed the whole point of the comment. Kids having kids with no nuclear family or parental guidance is breeding a cohort of criminals. A vicious cycle that was only exacerbated by the influx of refugees and continued.
