might be, if you get too good though, then a dictatorial country can deny you the ability to play thereby preventing you from demonstrating how you've mastered the sport

Golf is way harder at the pro level I’d imagine

Martina Hingis won a Grand Slam at age 16.
Monica Seles won one at age 16.
Tracey Austin won one at age 16.
Sharapova, Michael Chang, Boris Becker, Serena Williams, Staffing Graf won one at 17.
Even Tiger Woods isn't winning The Masters at age 16-17.
Both Monica Sales and Martina Hingis won multiple Grand Slams before they were 18.

Harder than tennis:
Olympic wrestling
Judo
Martial Arts (Kung Fu, Tai-Chi, KravMaga, etc.)
Water Polo
Decathlon / Heptathlon
Olympic All-Around gymnastics
I could keep going

Not saying it is the hardest, but I have no idea how goalies are able to stop hockey pucks screaming at them like a bat out of hell at 80-100mph.

It’s golf.
I’m good at tennis. I suck at golf. So golf.

Boxers seemingly put in the most hours. Maybe it’s a bit romanticized, but seems like they’re training from the moment they wake til they sleep, every single day.

To me it’s baseball. I played everything except baseball, it looks hard as heck. Pitchers are filthy.

No way. My vote goes to golf. You start off on a well manicured tee box and hopefully hit the ball in the fairway.
OOPS, you're now in the rough that can be 3+ inches higher grass and not manicured, or behind a damn tree. Hit the ball and hope to get close to the green, but you may find a sand trap or the ball may find water in the shape of a pond or stream.
When you finally get to the green, it is a relatively large expanse of beautifully manicured grass with undulations, slopes, soft and slow when wet and harder and faster when dry.
And you have 4 strokes on most holes to make par.

Going with hockey.
Take someone like Ovechkin, who is a great skater, hits like a train, and has one of the most fearsome shots in league history. You've got speed, strength, toughness, and incredible hand eye coordination where millimeters matter - not yards. And to do it all in an unnatural way of movement that you literally have to learn to do, and most folks look like baby giraffes trying.
That's a skillset that no other sport can allow for, and honestly does not allow for comparison.
I'm going with hockey.

According to sports scientists, the only sport where you benefit from starting at an early age is golf. Roger Federer gives partial credit to his tennis success by playing other sports when younger instead of tennis.
