Changes will have to be made to NIL! It will have to be even across the board, almost like a salary cap. If not this will be out of control.

Like I said:

Cut out boosters and outside companies.

NIL only allows players to get paid by the school for things like promotions, jersey sales, and if a video game is made, they get some money.

But businesses like Caines, Get Gorden, etc. should not be allowed to participate in this.

And the schools have to show the numbers to justify the payments.

Basically, when talking about jersey sales:The school can now put the name on the jersey along with the number. But the player gets a percentage of those sales, much like the NFLPA has set up with the NFL.

How long will it be before some of northern Baton Rouge’s finest take a bus to visit the NIL recipients? They’ll be targets from many areas and predict the baby mommas will be in full force as well. Not to mention kids with money and what they will do. Get you popcorn ready.

The question is whether the restrictions you propose would be found in compliance with the court ruling that ushered this in. I don't think the NCAA did the NIL thing voluntarily. It came from the courts. Whatever they do to put some guidelines around it will likely be challenged so hopefully they get it right.

The NCAA just hasn’t made any guidelines for NIL

it’s just a free for all until they create some rules

By the time they do, it'll be far too late to enforce whatever they come up with.

The ncaa isn't creating nil rules for a reason. They are asking congress to step in.

Something will happen to A&M. It may not be in the next year or two but they’re going to have a target on their backs.

Something will happen, alright, they’ll start making the playoffs, winning SEC titles, and national championships.

No, they won’t. After a year or 2 of 8-9 wins Bama, tOSU, UGA etc. will come calling with a matching offer and these kids will jump into the transfer portal with the quickness.

Isn’t that the same guy LSU offered $12mm per year for 8 years??

It’s a free for all until laws are implemented at the federal level. The NCAA can’t do shite now that nearly 30 states have passed their own (all slightly different) NIL laws. Since those laws pretty much all prohibit universities from interfering with any “legal” NIL deals, it creates a situation where the NCAA can’t enforce anything beyond whatever is written into the state laws. If they do, they are basically forcing the universities to either violate the law or leave the NCAA.

Best they can do at this point is try to catch schools in violation of their respective state laws. Which is entirely possible at some of these schools - Texas in particular, probably aTm as well.

Then you would have Texas A&M selling millions of jerseys with different names...
