I lived in Ormond Beach for a year. It's just north of Daytona. Sleepy, but very cool beach town.
As others have said, sand is much better in the Gulf. Wind and waves are much better on the Atlantic.
Daytona is fun. I wouldn't go during bike week or biketoberfest. You can drive on some beaches until sundown.
Go sit on the deck at Beach Bucket, and drive 10 minutes to Ormond to grab brunch at The Grind/Kona Tiki bar.

Better sand and clearer water on the Gulf side.
Better surfing on the Atlantic side if you are into surfing.

Heading to Bradenton in two weeks, what beaches over there are the nicest?

Spent a lot of time at crescent beach between st Augustine and Daytona and it’s a very nice beach. I don’t really care about the water because I don’t ever get in

Remember, Florida is an inversion Yankee/Redneck state.

Isn’t a finer looking beach in the gulf than Grand Isle. Water has a beautiful green slime color on some days

From the top of Anna Marie down to siesta key is beautiful.
Will you be in Bradenton or Bradenton Beach?

Sand isn’t as nice, and water is significantly colder no matter what time of year. Gulf side is better in my opinion.
Correct, st Pete Beach is our go to for summer weekends

Gulf side. The beaches themselves are some of the finest anywhere.

Yes and yes but they cracking down on alcohol on the beach.. The hell with that. I'll just enjoy my beverages with brown grand isle sand

No it isn’t. The Atlantic in SE Florida in winter is way warmer than NW Florida Gulf. It’s the reason coconut palms and a bonanza of tropical plants grow there and not in Pensacola.

Siesta Beach, and it isnt close.
Also try the other beach on Siesta Key, Crescent Beach.. Having lived in the area, I cant recommend Siesta Key highly enough.. but it’s definitely no secret and if you are driving, definitely shoot for a weekday, and early, b/c like anyhting else popular, parking and driving there are a bitch.

Been to beaches all over the place and the Florida Gulf beaches are always among the best. Best sand, best water. We are kind of spoiled going to them growing up.

If you pour you drink into a cup, I have never heard of anyone having issues with this kind of stuff anywhere.

Head north on 275 across the Skyway bridge and take the 54th Ave South exit and head west. You’ll run into Gulf Blvd.
Head south a few miles to visit Pass A Grille beach. This is a great starting point for a tour of the finest beaches in the state.
Fort Desoto Park in nearby and offers a plethora of outdoor recreational opportunities. Great flats fishing, boating, camping, kiteboarding, bike rental, fishing piers.
St Pete Beach is a good spot for the beach bar scene. The Undertow is a local fav.
Madeira Beach, Indian Rocks Beach and Sand Key are nice.
Avoid Clearwater Beach, it’s a tourist trap with awful traffic and Scientologists.
Honeymoon Island state park is north of Clearwater beach and has been ranked one of the best beaches in the USA.
South of Bradenton you also have a few choices definitely worth checking out.
Anna Maria Island, Long Boat and Siesta Key.
Caspersen Beach just south of Venice is undeveloped and a good choice for avoiding crowds and traffic. You can also find shark teeth by the gallon sifting through the surf break.
