From what I've read on tigerboard.com and the Mizzou writers I am following on twitter, they are going to straw poll Mizzou in the SEC East. If they get the votes, then Mizzou can get a list of demands from the Bovine 9, start work on the departure letter, etc.

Also a Big East meeting tomorrow. Rumors have been flying around tonight about things happening with WVU this week with either the SEC or Big XII. Our radio announcers for the first time tonight said something's happening soon. They've been very quiet and denying it for the past few weeks

Mizzou in the East is STUPID!!!! How the hell do you put them in the East when they are as far West as aTm?

Open a geography book much?

But I get where you are going. Bama will block them unless they go in the east. So there is no other way.

Supposedly with how the interstate system is laid out the mileage difference is pretty close with them no matter which side they end up on.

If Mizzou is in the East, who do they want to be matched up with in the West, Texas AM (who they usually dont play any way) or Arkansas, the closest school to them (no one cares if USC and Ark dont play anymore) Also, being in the East, they will get to play 3 schools that border their state: UK, Vandy, and Tennessee.

A&M and Arkansas have about the same rivalry with Mizzou. Not much. I say let Arkansas have them if they want them.

If all the division games were "away", the total difference between east & west is 140 miles & 2 hours - round trip. Not a big deal.

I say match A&m and Mizzou up, not with each other, but with a more historical SEC program. I'd think it would help with viewership, develop some rivals, and help more traditional SEC areas/fans accept them into the league. Ex: AtM with AU and Mizzou with Miss St os something like that.

Eta: I'm not in favor of adding Mizzou. My list is VaTech, FSU, NC State, Ga Tech - if not one of them stay at 13 and wait.

Isn't Auburn further east than Lexington and Nashville?

Think of it more in terms of North-Northeast and Southwest.

Mizzou to the east makes the most sense...I am guessing that they will want to play Texas A&M every year to keep a Texas pipeline in place.

If I were West Virginia I don't know if I would want to move to the Big 12. Almost rather go Indy than to travel that much for conference games. Wait and see if the 16 team conferences happens instead of hitting the panic button.

Bama and UT will vote against Mizzou if it means AU to the East. So there are two questions:

1. Will two other teams also vote no (as has been rumored that 2 other teams were against it initially)?

2. If 8 vote yes and four no, will they then vote on Mizzou joining as an East team?

The Block is actually rumored to be Alabama, Florida and UGA (Vandy Abstained). Florida and UGA want an Eastern Team but not from their state. There is a problem with EVERY potential eastern team, but folks want to try for a Virginia Tech before committing to Missouri.

Prediction: Missouri is accepted, then a committee will decide divisions, schedules, etc. Somehow the traditional rivalries will be maintained (UA-UT, AU-UGA, AU-UA)....

Hmmm... I would be fine with that if someone like Va Tech is a realistic possibility.

I do not think they are a strong possibility, but they wanted to be 100% sure and really there is not a rush to get this done this week. So there was some discussions between friends, etc...
