The weird part is that Mizzou still has not formally withdrew for the Big 12..

They may be announcing they are joining the SEC, but until the paper work is submitted there are all sorts of potential legal problems afloat..

quote:

"The decision by the University of Missouri to leave the Big 12 Conference is disappointing," Neinas said in a statement. "Mizzou has been a valuable member, with a Conference connection to schools in the Big 12 that dates back to 1907. I personally believe this decision is a mistake and that Missouri is a better fit in the Big 12. Once we have received a formal notice of withdrawal from Missouri, we will furnish it to our Board of Directors. The Board will review the situation and take appropriate action."

It seems like neither A&M, Mizzou, or WV can leave without making a problem for their new conference.

The next problem needs to be what is going to happen to the Big 12? If they get below 10, their media members can pull their new TV deal. We are inching closer and closer to the lawsuit Big 12 v. SEC. Announcing to the world that a team is joining your conference before they have ever even notified their current conference is going to ruffle a lot of feathers.

Wilkommen, Bienvenue, Come In!

Glad to have you, Mizzou. Even in a blood rivalry like the Border War, SEC Family comes first! Geaux (Other) Tigers.

I hope in the future Mizzou and KU can work it out and play again. I hate to lose the rivalry.

I think they will. Once KU gets over their butthurt, they'll realize they need that revenue (usually played in Arrowhead).

The Mizzou addition is starting to grow on me. Solid mid-level program, great campus, big TV market.

I think their culture is nowhere near other SEC schools when it comes to passion. Like someone else mentioned, when was the last time you heard of a wedding being scheduled around the Mizzou football season?

But hopefully some of our passion will rub off. Welcome to the greatest athletic conference in the country.

Sounds like it will be UF since LSU is afraid to continue playing them each year
That's absolutely not true. At least THIS LSU fan want to keep the UF rivalry going. It benefits both schools.

IIRC, you're one of the people who was pissed we didn't play in the Cap 1 last year? If so, your motives are pretty clear

How about Auburn and Alabama moving to the East, while the newbies go to the west?

Welcome aboard Missouri.

I have visited Columbia, Missouri a couple of times and it seemed like a cool college town.

Y'all are going to have to get used to an entirely new level of passion/crazy. Big 12 had three or four schools with insane fan expectations. The SEC has about eight.

Did you go to Troy because your math is bad. That would leave the SEC West with 6 teams and put 8 in the East.

Gollleeeee, I guess all the Missouri Tigers are committing suicide now that you've made your pronouncement.

I give you 15 years before you pass the 6th grade.

I dont see Mizzou that crazy of an addition even if it is to the East division. Heck they border 3 SEC states and 2 of them are in the East division. Its not like Boise St or Air Force in the Big East or BC in the ACC where they dont or didnt border any other state in their conference.

Welcome Mizzou!

Why you mad?

It took South Carolina 18 years to finally make it to the Conference Championship. Arkansas has made it three times, but has yet to win it either. The conference is harder to win now then it was then. I think it's safe to say they'll follow the same pattern as the last two teams added.
