What about Oxford? Close enough to a central location, and there will never be any possibility of a home field advantage.

Fans are too obsessed, with geography. It has nothing to do with that. It is about money, so that leaves ATL and DAL, and the big 12, will have Jerry World locked up by , 2017, when contract expires. Btw, Falcolns cant leave until at least 2018. If it was about Geography, do you think MU would be a good choice to join.

Atlanta is the capital of the South and the SEC championship game is a fixture there. Anything else you would like to bitch about LSU fans? Perhaps SEC refs, Birmingham, Slive, Saban, Hoover, playing Florida, etc?

Other than the game, I find Atlanta to be dreadful. It might be a fine place to live but as an out of towner. Bleh. But even with that said, it's still the best spot for the SECCG.

SEC and Arky need to do whatever it can to get a CCG in Jerryworld. Further expand that footprint into Texas.

You could add Orlando to your list. I'd be happy just to rotate it anywhere with Atlanta.

ETA: Also add Jerry World. No to Houston. It's too much Aggie territory.

What do you mean it's about money? New Orleans has long been a better city than Atlanta for football games, bowl games, etc. Ask a typical fan where they'd rather go and have fun for a weekend for a championship, super bowl or bowl game. It wouldn't even be close. I live in Atlanta and it has very little character. It's got nothing on New Orleans as far as offering architecture, character, food, etc. The atmosphere is just okay for the championship game and even though it's right next to Centennial Olympic park, the aquarium and World of Coca Cola, it's a pretty boring atmosphere leading up to the championship game. And again, due to corporations getting lots of tickets to the championship game, it's almost always an unbalanced crowd in favor of the East team, especially if it's Georgia, Florida or Tennessee playing, which it typically is. Time to spread the wealth. New Orleans and I bet Nashville would be packed if it were rotated.

I live in Atlanta. Who made it the capitol of the South? It's grown to be the biggest city, but the capitol? That's just silly. New Orleans was founded 150 years before Atlanta, has much more character and atmosphere, and has a much better football history of holding historic games such as the Super Bowl and the Sugar Bowl. The game should always have been rotated and it's a very lackluster atmosphere in Atlanta for the weekend. Pretty boring actually except for the game itself. I guess it's exciting for Alabamans, y'all pretty much have nothing to do in that state.

go to St Louis just once in Dec 7th and you will regret you went to the game OUTDOORS.

terrible idea. I have observed St Louis Big 12 games in snow weather. its a wretched thing to try to catch a football in 20 degree weather or to kick a football.

ONLY indoor stadia in December.

it fricking snows in L.C. sometimes, in December.
NO. NO outdoor stadia in December. especially not in St Louis.

I remember a Christmas break I took to St Louis with my then-gf who went to Washington U, in St Louis.
It was below zero and my car battery had to be jumped by the AAA.

Just say no. no outdoor stadia. Do you want to know what we did for exercise that week?
We fricking ICE SKATED.

But I don't see St. Louis being a logical choice for the CCG. It makes much more sense in Atlanta, Nashville, or Houston. Hell, even Dallas just to dickslap the Big 12-2-1+1-1

I managed to rebut in a single post.

If you put that game in Dallas, and the Cowboys are having a playoff quality season, no one will give a rats arse about it except for any local alums. Plus, Jerry World isn't in Dallas, it's in Arlington.

If you have to put it in Texas, put it in San Antonio. It's only 80 miles from t.u., which would amuse me tremendously, and San Antonio is a great city. On the other hand, the Alamo Dome is a dump.

For that matter, Houston would love to have it. Houston takes a lot of shite, mostly bitching by people who live there. Constant complaining about your home city is a Houston thing. It's much more refreshing that the "our shite don't stink" attitude of Dallas. Reliant is in a really cool part of town, near Rice and the Museum District. West U (the area around Rice) is home to a lot of great bars and restaurants.

FOR SOME REASON THIS CANNOT BE EMPHASIZED ENOUGH. SO I'M GOING TO SCREAM IT.

ST. LOUIS HAS A DOMED STADIUM. IT'S CALLED THE EDWARD JONES DOME. WANT MORE INFO, GOOGLE IT. DAMN.

Now, the real reason I signed on, to post about the arse-ton of legwork I just did to determine the most centrally located site in terms of average driving distance from each of the 14 (Missouri included) SEC schools:

Atlanta: 366 miles
New Orleans: 488 miles
St. Louis: 523 miles
Dallas: 672 miles
Houston: 690 miles

Did not include outdoor stadiums in the SEC footprint.

Not passing opinions on this just posting numbers. Too tired, too busy.

Atlanta, New Orleans, and Jerry World.

I could live with that.

Across the SEC board, more alumni from all schools live in Atlanta than in any other city. It's got the highest-capacity airport and with the CFB HOF and YES, it's CENTRAL LOCATION, it's perfect.

It's not moving, I'd get used to it and quit bitching.

ETA: Rotating games are horrible, look at the ACC.

I would be all for Nashville if they had an indoor stadium or even an artificial turf field. It would be a travesty for such a high caliber game such as the SECCG to played on a sloppy field in a cold/wet rain.

I'm ok with keeping it in Atlanta, but if we're throwing out ideas: Cowboys, Raymond James and Reliant stadiums are the only ones I could see as feasible. New Orleans already has the Sugar Bowl with a SEC tie-in.

You people that are proposing the SECCG move to Texas need to stop smoking. That's on the fricking edge of the conference and would inconvenience just about every fanbase not named LSU/Mizz/A&M

Once again, ATLANTA has a deal through 2017!!! The conference will look so different by then, what if 15 and 16 are VT and NCSU. 11 current teams can drive they in 6 hours our less. Atlanta IS the biggest and busiest Airport in the US. Which makes it easier to make quick plans if your team clinches in week 13. It has been said ATL had all theese corp sponsors, exactly like I said money. No one argues that Atl is more fun than NO, it clearly is not, but being fun or older city, does not make you the capitol of the South. Being bigger, larger tv market, much bigger and busy airport, home of Coke, Delta, Home Depot, etc etc, population so diverse that you cannot tell who is the home team when you go to any pro team event. Not to mention it its the most central location, esp as the sec continues to change.
