Say what you want horn, but Texas is in a weaker conference now than they were this time last year, and a MUCH weaker conference than they were in this time 2 years ago.

Lets hope it doesn't bite you in the arse if and when you go undefeated in the regular season again. Will being in the only conference without a championship game help you, or hurt you?

Won't matter as long as OU has Stoops and/or OSU has Gundy. The 'Horns might roll in cash but they'll be a third place lock for the next ten years. Unless WVU starts kicking their arse, too.

Texas continually refuses to agree to full Tier1/Tier2 sharing.

The Big 12 board of directors announced Monday schools will equally share all conference-related revenue, including money generated from Tier I and II broadcast rights for football and men's basketball and the NCAA men's basketball tournament.

Of course, this could have happened earlier (which did include a grant of rights, but so does the Pac-12 and Big 10's sharing agreements, as I've shown) if Texas A&M hadn't (with Texas and Oklahoma) blocked it in the spring (see earlier links). I guess the Aggies had wondering eyes, and really weren't for a stronger Big 12 conference.

We have repeatedly favored it, while Texas has continually shot it down.

I dispute your "repeatedly" claim. I have shown you that A&M was the swing vote for any changes to revenue sharing. Without the actual minutes of the meetings, I suppose you'll never be satisfied, Strick09, I mean 06. So be it.

And yes, Texas destroyed the SWC just like it is destroying the BigXII.

Again, how did Texas destroy the Southwest Conference?

I don't know anything about the SWC so I wont pretend to, but I think the thought is that Texas does have a huge ego and looks out for itself. Which is fine but some feel and I am included in that group that sometimes it's to the detriment of the conference. Granted there were others doing the same thing so it can't all be blamed on Texas.

Remarks from Powers,Dodds and others have showed little care about the smaller less funded universities and a conference has both sides of the equation. Some will have everything they need while others don't but all the universities are important in one way or another, but when some teams don't feel they have a voice the conference is going to crumble because they wont be happy.

Personally I do hope that Texas and OU have learned from the last couple years and they will become more aware of what the smaller schools need as well. I also hope that it becomes a stable conference for KU,KSU,ISU,Baylor,TCU and WVU because they are the ones that will be left behind if in 6 years OU,OSU,TT and Texas bolt.

The fact is there is a reason that 4 teams have left or tried to leave the conference. The Big 12 now needs to fix the things that were wrong and move forward.

Texas ruined the SWC?

No...half the teams being on probation at any given time ruined the SWC. Essentially becoming a mid-major with teams like Rice, SMU, and Houston ruined the SWC. Wow...

you finally removed yourselves from Texas' shadow. Now quit bitching.
