I just wanted to say that I think it is ironic that the Big Ten has 12 teams, and the Big XII has 10 teams. I wonder if there is a plan to trade conference names between the two somewhere along the line. Thoughts? Let the games begin...

I think it is crazy the SEC may have an East Division in the Southeastern Conference with Mizzou in it...

You forgot that the "Big" East is down to what, 6 teams now?

I'm just waiting for when a Canadian university organizes a team and seeks membership in Conference USA.

Similarly, I can't wait for Boise St. to join the Big "East".

Wow.

No one has ever noticed that.

What a brilliant observation!

just move Bama and Auburn to the east.

Missouri and Tamu to the west where they belong.

Move Vandy to the west.

all the teams in the east are thus in the eastern time zone.

all the teams in the west are west of any teams in the east division.

that optimizes for time, for distance to travel.

Alabama is in the Central time zone.

Either use I-65 or change the names to Northeast & Southwest. (Except that that puts Florida in the Northeast)

Technically, Vanderbilt is west of both Tuscaloosa and Auburn, yet it is in the east.

I thought so, but clearly I am not nearly as brilliant as you are. How do you manage to exist among all us lower beings who surround you?

It isn't a big deal. I mean Tampa Bay used to be in the NFC Central and Dallas is in the NFC East and Indy is in the AFC South.
