Central West End - Club Mandarin...my boy Colby Rasmus goes there a lot.

On the way to St. Louis there's a fun place to eat in Sikeston. Lambert's Cafe home of the throwed rolls

Bro, I love Mandarin, great place, especially since I can walk home from there.

- Forest Park is in the middle of the city much like New York's Central Park (but St. Louis size). Inside the park is an 18 hole golf course, the St. Louis Zoo, the History Museum, the Art Museum, Steinberg Ice Rink (one of only two outdoor rinks in St. Louis), and The Muny (which has wonderful shows during the summer). It's a wonderful family destination.
My main regret when I lived in Dogtown, was not taking advantage of Forest Park

Is this where Friendly's is? I loved that place. Dirt cheap draft beer.
And I still love me some Schlafly.
eta: To support Mizzou to the SEC, I'm currently drinking out of a Harpo's cup.

I have forgotten the name of one Italian restaurant that is not on the Hill. There is one in the Drury Inn by Union Station and another next to the Drury Inn by Lambert Airport. It is worth visiting.
Also Schlafly Brewery has a restaurant and it is very good for lunch. Schlafly Pale Ale on draft is excellent.

It has been 10 years since I was stationed at FT. Leonardwood but we used to travel back and forth between ST Louis and Columbia. Wish I could remember everything...damn CRS.

Good stuff on here. I would add a new pizza place called "Pi," if you like Chicago-style deep dish.
Most importantly, though, no visit to St. Louis is complete without a trip to Ted Drews for some frozen custard. The concretes are held upside down to show how thick they are.
It's a landmark on the old Route 66.
