Is it that difficult to look at a map or go to Mapquest?

Not being a dick, but it just seems it would be easier to do that.

About an hour and a half. The cops are strict as all hell in that town about speeding. It's actually a well kept city, although I have not been to the stadium (yet )

i think you are being a dick. i was subtly pointing out a positive about missouri being in the sec but it appears to have been lost on you. st. louis is a great town and it is most definately a possibility to combine one's visit there and head up to columbia for the game.

Sorry, Gramps, but I was just wondering...

And you don't need to sell me on MO. I'd love to see them in the SEC, mostly because I'd like to get to Columbia for a game.

Now, go finish off that Metamucil.

Roughly 100 miles. And for what it is worth I have aired it out on I-70 and never had a problem.

Subtlety. Good luck with that on TD.

Being a St. Louis native and former Mizzou student, it doesn't take long to figure out where the speed traps are.

I've done 125 down that highway before.

If you ever visit ST Louis make sure spend a half a day in Herman, Mo. It is on the way to Columbia off of I-70. They have a very historical town of German and french descent that is interesting. Three wineries in the town and is one of the only towns in Mo that hosts a cajun festival once a year. Crawfish boil, gumbo cook-off and last year they had the lousiana Cajun Aces perform.

Be sure to eat at the Hill. It used to be called Dago Hill, but people are not allowed to say that anymore. It has some of the best Italian restaurants in the country.

Yogi Berra and Joe Garagiola grew up across the street from each other on the Hill.

I haven't been to St. Louis in years and it was mostly for a baseball game. left me with the impression that i need to go back and it sounds like the surrounds will be interesting also. i hope these guys join the SEC; it's like new blood from a new region but not that far away.

I'll just go ahead and post a St. Louis Visitor's Guide.

FOOD
Red got it right regarding food. There's nothing better than The Hill. This neighborhood is tucked in the corner of Interstate 44 and Kingshighway Blvd.

You can't go wrong when you dine anywhere here, but some places are pricier than others. I'll list some good ones (and their price level).
- Charlie Gitto's ($$$$)
- Dominic's ($$$$)
- Guido's Pizzeria ($)
- Favazza's ($$)
- Lorenzo's Trattoria ($$$)
- Rigazzi's ($$)
- Cunetto House of Pasta ($$)
- Joey B's ($$)

There really is no reason to eat anywhere else. You wont find better Italian food (or any food for that matter).

ATTRACTIONS
- Obviously we have the Arch. It's worth a go if you've always wanted to see it, but I've also lived here my whole life.

- The Anhueiser Busch Brewery Tour is a must for any beer lover. The tours are free and held during the day (usually until 5pm). It's worth it for the hospitality room at the end. St. Louis also has the Schlafley Brewing Co. This is over in St. Louis County in Maplewood. If you've never had a Schlafley, it's certainly worth a try.

- Forest Park is in the middle of the city much like New York's Central Park (but St. Louis size). Inside the park is an 18 hole golf course, the St. Louis Zoo, the History Museum, the Art Museum, Steinberg Ice Rink (one of only two outdoor rinks in St. Louis), and The Muny (which has wonderful shows during the summer). It's a wonderful family destination.

NIGHT LIFE
- I'm not going to list any individual bars or clubs here, but there are plenty of areas to spend your night out. Look them up on google maps, I'm too lazy to post the street names.

-Laclede's Landing
-The Delmar Loop
-Soulard
-Tower Grove South
-Washington Street
-The Grove (if that's how you roll)

Hope this helps some. There's a lot more, but I'm starting to lose focus. It should be enough to get you started.

Hopefully, we could catch y'all at the beginning of the year, so that I could get a Cardinals game in as well.

you can visit STL or KC if you fly up to MO for a weekend. There is also a small airport in Columbia but you may or may not find that convenient when it is often easier to fly into STL/KC and just drive 90 minutes to Columbia.

STL offers the Cardinals stadium (very nice) as well as teh Blues and the Rams. There is a very nice Zoo with no admission charge in Forest Park (near the Art Museum & Science Center and Planetarium).

Herman MO can and maybe should be visited on teh way in or out of town (sort of between STL and Columbia) - nice beers and wines in a very cute small town with German heritage. There is also a Six Flags in teh area of STL which some will go for (and a variety of strip clubs in East STL for you younger and skeezier guys)

Kansas City I've done less visiting but the Chiefs Arrowhead stadium is awesome, the Royals park is right next to it and is really attractive (with cheap tickets) as well. There is a Harry Truman Museum around KC as well for you history buffs... and for people driving up there through Arkansas you can stop in Branson if you are an authentic redneck and Springfield MO if you just need a medium sized city to stop and drink at along teh way.

Columbia is generally speaking a cute smallish town with some nice bars and a fairly nice campus.
