Your net opinion on Krags as the OC (sounding more and more likely)

I give it a grade of 7 out of 10. He could work out really well since we are stocked and he is not Crowton.

As reference, Fuente would be a 9 for me. Stud a 3.

2/10

I think his QB history is a bit overrated and his past is almost Crowtinish. Which we need to separate as far as possible. I only give him a 2 because he has to be a upgrade over Crowton...

This word will be part of the English language by the time Krags leaves. I would grade him a 6/10 with the potential to be an 8. Cameron would have been my top pick. I would have prefered that we lure away a guy that is successful and established from another school like Weis. I know that high expecations but that would have been my 10.

6.5. LSU dropped the ball when they didn't go after Bryan Harsin.

He has not produced lately and that is what everyone remembers. I for one would like to have someone with recent success.

I would rank Krags an 8. Remember, he was the rock star 4 years ago. My other top guys are Cameron,Logan, Clements, and Fuente. Rocket S - Fuente is the high risk guy with 2 years of co-playcalling and NO RECORD of figuring out top defenses week-end and week out.I would have to dock him to at most a 7 because if this.

I'll give the hire a 9. He's a good QB coach (which LSU desperately needs) as well as OC. I can't wait to see LSU run a pro-style offense. I think too many people get caught up on his HC record. Newsflash - he's not being hired to be our HC.

7/10. I don't think he can deliver us a great offense. I do think he can make our offense respectable, but it will level out and people will grow tired of him after a few years.

Well, I'd need to establish some reference for scale:

9 of 10 - Brian Harsins
9 of 10 - Charlie Weis
8 of 10 - Justin Fuente
6 of 10 - Gary Crowton (HEY! At least this guy was employeed as an OC)

Which leaves me giving Krags:

5 of 10 - It's an average hire compaired to some of the currently employeed playcallers.

I was right there stride for stride with you.... until you listed Gary a 6, ahead of eval for Krag. The players could call the plays and be no worse than we have for the last 2-3 years.

According to BP we did go after Harsin. Hard.

Yeah...I hear ya. The bad thing for me is, the more I compair those two guys (i.e. Crowton and Krags), the more they look about the same. Same decline as offensive playcallers. Same FAIL as HC.

I'll bump Crowton down to a 4.5.

Louisiville is the only stop he had where he had a decline. At least in the last 10 years or so.

I am not exactly excited about the guy. But the more I learn about him the more I realize my opinion of him as OC was based on reading uninformed opinions of him here.

6/10

A 5 out of 10.

The numbers speak for themselves, he's had 1 good year as an OC and about 8 or 9 mediocre ones.

Doesn't that sound like the reason we're in this predicament in the first place?

he is the last one I wanted, so I think this will be another Gary Crowton debacle.

What was the Louisville QB situation while he was there?
