My personal favorite:

Preferred qualifications Minimum twelve (12) years coaching experience in a university 1-A program. Minimum 7 years experience coaching in the NFL. Experience coaching at a BCS school. Experience with recruiting prospective student-athletes. Thorough knowledge of all facets of football operations including team travel, logistics, planning, recruiting, housing, game day ops, and office management. Experience using XOS technology and ACS software. Demonstrated high ethical standards in all aspects of professional career.

How many coaches have this "preferred" cred of 7 years in the NFL?

I think there's a law in Texas that all state jobs have to be posted online for at least 72 hours before being filled.

I read on a blog that the "preferred qualifications" on that job posting just happen tomatch those of Teryl Austin to a 'T', and he's out of a job as of today. But I don't know what to think of that. There's going to be a lot of pissed off people around here if its anyone but Shannon for DC and Major or Harsin for OC.

waiting for someone on here to send out a resume...just to do it.

And you know who I mean...not a coach, just some dude working as a cab driver, plumber, elctrician, etc.

"yeah, I sent them my resume, but they never gave me a call."

I dont think that presser went off as planned, the intention was to name a DC today, there may be a breakdown somewhere

I think Harsin's a longshot now, but then again, I believe if they were going to hire him they were going to wait till after the Boise bowl game

If Mack really wanted Major to be the OC, I think he would have announced it at almost at the same time as Greg Davis retiring. I think every passing day makes it less likely that Major is the OC. He must not think he's ready...

100% agree

I really think there's a rift between the prodigal son & his mentor. I think Willie M has had alot to do with that plus I think Mack got caught out of his element and has said & done some ill advised things both publicly and behind closed doors.

I had a friend apply for the UGA DC position when it was open recently. He got the rejection letter. And he got his name in the Atlanta-Journal Constitution, since they listed all of the applicants. And he's a database analyst.

Sounds like they want an energetic, up-and-coming, tech-savvy 72-year-old.

I can't lie. Baylor advertised for their AD position in 2003 and I sent in a resume. I did not receive an interview though.

Chip Brown is reporting that Teryl Austin will be announced as Texas DC.
