Why hasn't Kiffin's name come up?

I'd take him over Muschamp and some of the others that are either landing jobs or being considered. Is he locked in at Bama for the HCIW or has he already made a move that will come out after the season?

I'm wondering this myself. People have been talking like he's a lock to leave all year but I've only heard of tenuous connections to Maryland and Miami. Or have I just not been paying attention?

A lot of bammers were saying last mth that it was pretty much the general consensus that he was gone after this season. But, yea, his name is not coming up at all apparently. Mabe a pro HC job in the works once the pro season ends?

Lane Kiffen would be a great hire here

His previous three (short-lived) head coaching stints didn't work out.

Listen gump. Can you please just let me dream of a competent offense for a second.

Hell no!!! A compitent LSU offense fricks my Gump world up.

why in the hell would he leave Bama for an OC position at a team Bama owns? This would be worse than a lateral move. ANy money LSU throws at him would be matched and then some by Bama

There is certainly some interest on his part to rejoin his old buddy O over here as OC. There was definitely a conversation about it before all hell broke loose 2 weeks ago. It's no secret in the coaching circles that Cam would not be returning.
I have no idea if that interest is mutual. I can think of worse hires, but I'm just not sure I'd want him around our program.

I am surprised he has not gotten some HC spotlight in some of these searches.
The way he left Tenn was rotten but hardly unique.
His tenure at USC overlapped with the sanctions. He does not appear to have made any verbal mistakes since taking the OC job at Alabama.
You would think someone would give him a shot.

Kiffin will eventually mature into a great headcoach somewhere - and Alabama may be the place where he makes his mark - maybe not. He's been incredibly fortunate to work with the two best college coaches of his time: Pete Carroll and Nick Saban. Two GREAT coaches with very different styles. Kiffin would be a great hire right now but with a few more years seasoning to prove his maturity and love for the college game he'll make some team a multiple National Champion.

Kiffin is a good coordinator. But his name is toxic when it comes to power 5 coaching jobs. Only team I can think that might take him is Rutgers. Illinois probably could have got him but they chose to go with the interim.
He will be a be at bama for a while unless nick wears him out and he takes an oc job somewhere else.

I think he's already tired of working for Saban. At least that's the impression I got.
And I agree about his head coaching prospects. He's a brilliant offensive mind and is likely better suited in a coordinator role, where that can be his focus.

Did his wife ever join him in t town?

I just don't think he is a good fit as a HC. He thrives at BAMA because Saban is in control.

I keep wondering where you people keep coming up with how the coaches feel?
Like you know them and talk with them all the time.
Where does this impression come from?

Legit question: if Saban left and Kirby gets the job does he keep Kiffin?

My guess doubtful, but who really knows any of this.
