Because it will feel good to no longer have to face a coach, who we once loved, as a mortal enemy every year. We wanted him to be emotionally connected to our school...to love it like we do. We thought he might have a soft spot for LSU (national championship in 03) when he left for Miami. I would guess the vast majority of LSU fans wanted to see him succeed in the NFL.

Coming back to our yearly, in division rival....was brutal. It showed us that his time here meant nothing. If he does go to UT, I suspect that his legacy at LSU and Tiger fan's long term feelings about him will be significantly more positive than if he stays at Bama until 2020 and retires there.

I think a lot of it also has to do with Bama fans being incredulous to the above and not being able to understand it. You are getting a small taste. If the tables were turned you would really understand. It is similar, but not as bad as Kentucky fans and Rick Petino (kicked arse at UK, left for Celtics, came back to their mortal enemy).

Just my opinion...

We have to be excited about something. A three-loss season and a trip to play Iowa in the Outback Bowl ain't gettin' it for most of us.

Idiot Bama fans think we want Saban gone because we're butthurt about him leaving, when in reality we just want your team to suck.

Its nothing personal. Its just bidness.

Because of posts like this:

I guess I can understand that in the context of how you might view the University of Alabama as a whole, but for me I'm an Alabama football fan, and then I'm a fan of the University. I think Alabama football has done so many great things for the state, and I personally am fine with Alabama football being the ambassador for the state. I wouldn't want to see Nick Saban paid more than he's worth, but I don't think he should be limited because alumni or the like don't place the same importance on football he does.

Well, the way I see it is that if Texas and Alabama get into a bidding war and drive the price up to 15 million a year, everyone loses in the long run.

Precedent is set, other schools are pressured to offer exorbitant salaries to mediocre coaches, mid-majors are unable to offer competitive contracts, the same handful of teams win every game against nothing but cupcakes and the quality of product we watch erodes yet further.

Why would LSU fans ever be mad at a move the crushes Bama and A&M?
