But what happened at nc state?

NC State was No. 42 in scoring with Canada as OC in 2015.

NC State dropped to No. 88 in scoring in 2016, after letting Canada go.

Why did they let him go?

They also lost their QB to the draft this year.

He was too good. NC State hates winning.

The team regressed from 2014 to 2015, from 7-6 to 6-6. Canada became the scapegoat, but the NC State HC was criticized for letting the wrong coach go. There were rumors of in-fighting between the two.

Blame Canada?

quote:

Originally this piece was meant to be a retrospective of the first three years of the Dave Doeren era at NC State, but with the recent dismissal of offensive coordinator Matt Canada, the bent here will focus a little more on the recent-versus-historical performance of the offensive and defensive units as well as the overall direction of the program. The numbers seem to bear witness to the general message board sentiment that the wrong coordinator was shown the door.

This was written before the 2016 season, and the writer is proven to be correct.

So now you have the story on NC State and Canada. Also, Canada is a finalist for best offensive coordinator for the 2016 Broyles Award.

You tell me, did NC State make the right coaching change?

The full list of finalists for the 2016 Broyles Award can be seen below:

Alabama – Jeremy Pruitt, Defensive Coordinator/Linebackers
Clemson – Brent Venables, Defensive Coordinator/Linebackers
Colorado – Jim Leavitt, Defensive Coordinator/Linebackers
Michigan – Don Brown, Defensive Coordinator/Linebackers
Pittsburgh – Matt Canada, Offensive Coordinator/Quarterbacks

All of the candidates listed are successful where they are but which ones are most willing to adapt to our players? We don't want someone who is going to constantly force a square peg into a round hole

No he's been successful at all his stops. Check out his time at NC State as well.

All in on Canada, if we're going realistic hires. Can't wait for the new look to tailgating:

Matt Canada is hardly a "prospect". He was first an OC in 1997, and he hasn't ever passed beyond that position. This is not the type of coach I want at LSU.

He went from Butler---> No. Illinois--->Indiana---->Back to No. Illinois.

Why hasn't he ever been a head coach?

wait

why?

you don't want a guy who is happy to be a coordinator and who will provide more stability than a OC who is going to take a HC job in a year or 2?

Pitt improved to No. 10 in scoring in 2016.

NC State's HC sucks; not their former OC.
