Yeah Memphis was top 25 in total defense the last two years before this one. Lost a good DC and 8 starters going into this season.
He doesn't strike me as a guy to move jobs just to move jobs. In all honesty, I don't think he leaves Memphis this year with the current job openings. He'd listen to South Carolina if they don't hire Smart.
If Richt gets canned or if Big Game Bob wants to hit the restart button in Miami or Southern Cal, then I think he'd jump

I think VT makes the most sense. Reasonably easy place to turn around with the talent and resources they have but not demanding he win right away.

If he can keep his QB, Paxton Lynch, for one more year he will stay another year. If not then I think VA Tech would be a good fit for him
