I am still dreaming that Chris Petersen said yes to our drawn up contract and we hired him. I am not listening do any others and have no idea what you are talking about.

We could have hired Nick Saban and they would say it was the worst hire possible.

who knows, doesn't matter. Long kept this search airtight until the end. time will tell if its a good hire however its certainly not one to be embarassed by, he has skins on the wall.

Much better hire the Auburn........

You have got to give this guy a chance. He can apparently coach pretty well. He MUST get some SEC recruiters on his staff. If he tries to recruit like he is in the Midwest, he is sunk.

Yep, it was real tough to follow it having to wait for all the extensions his overtures spurred.

not really, he also lost 3 games in OT so very easily could've won 10.

also shows he can hire good assistants.

if we whiffed on petersen and patterson, we weren't the first and won't be the last.

got a coach with a high win % in a major conference.

Right. No one is saying he's a bad hire per se, it's just such a wonder bread and mayo hire. Especially when y'all have been non stop talking about prime rib and cabernet for weeks.

Certainly not from you junior.

To the OP I'll give this hire an A- until I see the staff he puts together.

just been eating what the rumors have been serving.

i was feeling once it seemed like we weren't getting either of the P's or gundy that it was gonna be the usual blah hire of an assistant or a MAC/WAC kinda guy.

so yeah, not the snazziest hire out there, but a real solid one with fewer question marks as couldve been the case.

I love the hire it was redicously surprising though. Long must have handled the search well since no one had any inside information at all. Can't argue with wins and this guy is coming into Arkansas with a better resume than Petrino came here with. We will have to wait and see how it works out.

I like the hire.

And?

Miles wasn't walking into a division that has won 4 out of the last 5 national championships, possibly 5 of the last 6. Just a tiny difference.
