They hired Him. That Water Bug offence was never gonna succeed there. Add in a complete lack of defense and its a recipe for getting run out of town.

A big reason he was let go had to do with the fact that the AD that hired him had retired.

If Bill Martin would have stayed longer, so would have RR.

Rich Rod kinda gotta raw deal. I don't think any of the boosters really supported him. He did have problems on defense, but his offense was good, and he increased his win total every year (I believe). Hoke won a (BS) BCS game with his recruits. Kind of reminds me of Notre Dame and Willingham. They threw away an excellent coach because he wasn't "one of them".
