Chicken was correct about Saban and Texas, a fluid and uncertain situation( typical of big time coaching changes) changed late due to UT idiots that screwed up the deal.

So basically everybody is always correct in coaching search guesses?

I disagree. He seems the type to accept the challenge of both jobs

Yes gumps would love to laugh at me on this.

Many coaching search situations change from day to day.

oh give it a rest chicken..

these so called sources was also telling you saban was all but signed to texas also..

Not many Bama fans will admit this on a non team board, but Saban was listening Texas. He was, and probably still is, incredibly irritated by the Gump portion of our fan base. Luckily, at his age, he'd rather build his legacy than rebuild another program.

Chickens sources also said Notre Dame was joining the Big 12. Just another one of those fluid and uncertain situations eh?

Not doubting this for a minute, bc we have our share of idiots but when would Saban come in contact with these idiots. Only people I have seen him upset with is some reporters.

It is absolutely impossible to be AD and football coach today. Literally impossible

Agree 100%, foolish for any major Univ. to consider someone for both positions...

yes saban visited texas alot..everybody knows this..

but if you think for one second mack brown had anything to do with them hiring saban..then i dont know what to tell you..

they couldnt agree on money..bottomline..the 10 year 100 million dollar 1% of longhorn network was bullshite..im betting ketchum or stupid arse chip brown floated that out there..frick both of them..

anyways if chicken is saying he has "inside" sources telling him this stuff, im gonna be placing my bet on the opposite direction..

This strikes me as odd and probably untrue. Being an AD requires you to be an arse kissing people person. Isn't this why Harbaugh and the 9ers brass are at odds?

Didn't Michigan just hire that AD? Or is he a temp? If they just hired him, I bet that's too much payout for Hoke, AD, and to bring JH on board.

Has Chicken ever been right about anything involving football stuff?

Serious question.

Jim Hackett is the Temp AD. UConn,BC, and Arky AD's are all named by Detroit media as the possible permanent AD.
Hackett and Miles were teammates at Michigan. The guy Hackett hired to lead the search is a former Asst Coach under Bo.

i could see a situation where they bring you in and you basically hire your own puppet AD and for all intents and purposes he answers to you, but to do both jobs yourself is a little much.

as odd as it sounds, Saban is an extremely sensitive person and is very aware of everything being said around his program. He also spends a lot of time "coaching" the fan base as well and, like at LSU, there's a portion of that fanbase that can't be coached.
